  1. Freddy would want 4 million same with most the guys we do plan on moving, I’d rather them just save all that money and pay rantanen, I’d give the Freddy trade an A-, we get a early 2nd rounder, and 4th. Don’t have to pay jones 1m. Was a good trade for both us and Edmonton. I think we can get 2-3 1sts if we decide to move Carlo, coyle, geekie or Zacha I’d rather keep 2/4 move the other 2, try to get ourselves itleast 4-5 picks in the first 2 rounds hopefully we could get into that top3 luckily with the lottery, get ourselves misa, hagens or Schaffer, and if we can get 2 firsts this draft coming up we got a shot to add 3 big pieces in the draft and still have the money to use those rookie contracts to our advantage. I’d love to get desnoyers if we fall to 6-8th. He’d be great with pasta. End of the day if we can nail this draft it can go a long way we just need to actually take the talent stop taking these local kids ffs and take the best players, there still mostly playing CHL, it just is what it is, ncaa has some studs but we need to get some more Canadian talent in the pipeline

  2. Marchand is 37 years old. What kind of contract does he think he's going to get? The bruins screwed up with the lindholm deal with the contract length and dollars. But youre still not paying Marchand 7 million per at 37 years old. Even bergeron was getting 2.5 mil and incentives. He wasn't breaking the bank at 38. I dont know the right value for marchand, but maybe 2 years 10 million max.

  3. Conor shouting out desnoyers love it he plays for my hometown along with loke johansson, there coach is great and has really helped loke become a complete Dman I think will be pleasantly surprised with his development.

  4. This is good. They got two draft picks. The Bruins were not signing him. They were not getting a first for Frederick. He didn't produce this year.

  5. Is there anyway the team can dump Jeremy Swayman somehow? IMO that was the worst contract handed out in the teams entire history and things are only going to get worse from here.

  6. Carlo is a huge wimp. Trade him. Lindholm and Swayman should be put on waivers to see if there is another stupid GM out there. Get whatever you can for Coyle Geekie. Bring up the kids and see what you got for next year. This will be a few years process

  7. It is very easy to figure out who his going to get traded by Don Sweeney and who isn't by Friday

Carlo Zacha Swayman and Marchand aren't getting moved

If those guys got moved not only does that mean they are in a full rebuild

It would also mean Don Sweeney would have to say this to ownership, "I failed and because of that we need a rebuild"

When in Sweeney's tenure as GM has he ever accepted accountability? Not only he has not done it, when any beat reporter has ever even put a little pressure on him in that regard, he goes full on defiant and has become an instant A-Hole as if his crap results don't require some accountability questions

Don Sweeney could easily be fired if he admits he failed, this is all his fault and that they need a rebuild

Sweeney is not going to admit fault or go for a full or partial rebuild, that is if he wants to keep his job.

However, it will be far more easy for Sweeney to make excuses and convince ownership to give him another chance around the idea of a quick re-tool

So again, Marchand, Zacha, Swayman and Carlo aren't likely getting moved because those are "rebuild" level type of moves, even Carlo, because they have NOTHING in PVD at defense that will be ready to be a Top 4 D in the NHL, next year NOTHING!!!. Carlo is also cheap, has term and he's a decent penalty killer.

That means the only other guys likely to be moved are the near worthless ones that won't return much in any trades like Wotherspoon, Koekpe, Brown, Tufte, Callahan, Osterle, Brazeau & Mitchell. These are the guys most likely to be traded at the deadline

Not Zacha Carlo Marchand or Swayman

I suppose there's a chance they may move Coyle and or Korpisalo but those feel like off season moves, not trade deadline moves.

And if they get a monster offer for Geekie, maybe, but I doubt it. The Bruins have no depth at wing, Geekie has some chemistry with Pasta and Zacha, he's an RFA that will under team control still and he won't cost very much.

And again, I fully believe Sweeney will pitch a re-tool not a rebuild to management and that leans more towards Geekie staying than being moved at the deadline.

Again, I still believe Sweeney is going retool not rebuild as the rebuild will cost him his job. Which is why I think guys like Geekie, Marchand, Zacha, Swayman and even Carlo aren't likely going to get moved

As for Trent Frederic, he's one of the most overrated guys on Boston's roster and has been for a while. Thank goodness we don't have to watch this near useless stiff anymore

Frederic is not good offensively, he's not an asset on special teams, he's more of a fake tough guy than a real one, he only fights 40 year olds and weaklings he shouldn't fight these days, he still takes too many dumb penalties and he's complete ZERO in the post season where he often gets benched.

Frederic also shot twice his career shooting% the two previous seasons and he was put in more positions with better talent around that allowed him to achieve a bit more and credit to him, he did

However, this year he regressed exactly back to what he has always been, a lower talent grinder that doesn't give you much unless he scores or plays overly physical, two things he really does much of anymore.

I'm beyond elated they moved Frederic before Sweeney gave him the Nick Foligno to be the same exact, useless turd Nick Folingo was while here

$4.5M, term and a full NTC

Any Bruins homers still pining for Trent Frederic, wake up.

He stunk, he did nothing in the post season EVER!!!! and some dumb GM is going to pay him $3.5M-$4.5M to probably be even a worse turd next season for them than he was this year in Boston

But again, I still believe Sweeney is going retool not rebuild as the rebuild will likely cost him his job.

Which is why I think guys like Geekie, Marchand, Zacha, Swayman and even Carlo aren't likely going to get moved and I honestly don't believe that the Jacobs will fire Sweeney and Neely until maybe next year if the Bruins fall flat again

Awesome, said no one with a brain

  8. 12:16 It’s difficult to use the Seattle/Tampa trade to gauge what the Bruins can do, even in a “sellers market”.
Bjorkstrand is a consistent 45+ Points per season RW. Gourde is a 20-goals per season veteran center who is also very good on defense.
The Bruins don’t have those types of assets to trade-away (unless they can find a way to move Coyle without retaining his cap-hit for next season).

In addition, those both of the 1st-round draft picks headed to Seattle are “top ten protected” in 2026 & 2027. While it’s unlikely, that means Seattle may not actually receive the 2027 pick until 2029. A player drafted in the 2029 first round probably doesn’t see NHL ice with the Kraken until 2032. In other words, this could be a REALLY long (but still potentially very smart) play by Seattle. Does the Boston market (and front office) really have the stomach to trade a roster player now to gain a maybe-roster player in 2032?

  9. Sweeney HATES selling his binkies. I would be surprised if he can/does trade anyone besides Freddy and maybe a couple of AHLers. This team needs a turnover of at least a dozen players.

  10. I would move any player for a good return except pasta and mcavoy they need better players and coach.I don’t want to see Marchand leave but his value will not be higher.

  11. 2006 draft is up there with the 1979 draft for the Bruins. Mike O'Connell had just been fired, Peter Chiarelli had just been hired, but Jeff Gorton the acting interim GM ran the draft. The 2008-13 run of weak drafts was Scott Bradley's work (the Tyler Seguin pick was a no-brainer)

  12. wow…Sweeney made a good trade, give him an award. these 2 guys no nothing bith have 9k followers, that funny..Hey how is Beecher doing, the 1st pick at bc NO GOALS, the 2015 draft……what a joke
