  1. It should. They couldn't beat Columbus on home ice? they deserve all the scorn and laughter they get. I'm so done with Dolan and his ineptness at running ANYTHING successfully. How brilliant was his dad that he was so successful and smart that he made it idiot adopted son proof.

  2. Thank you, Jim, for mentioning Schneider’s awful play. He just doesn’t hit anymore; makes no sense. Team MUST go back to zone d structure

  3. Too many people have regressed this year Jim. Trocheck, Laf, K'Andre, Schneider and Kreider.

I get that the GM didn't want to get rid of another coach but you could tell he has zero influence over this team or his way of doing things is just antiquated and teams are out planning him. This weekend was pathetic hockey and I won't get those 6 hours of my life back. They showed you what they were made of this weekend and I don't want to see them in the playoffs because they're not going on a run and it'll just be heartbreaking watching them lose a series in five games in the first round

  4. THANK YOU JIM FOR TELLING IT LIKE IT IS! How refreshing! I wish the beat reporters would through some of these questions at Laviolette and Drury about their decisions and what they were thinking? Lavi is a goner in the Summer and Drury will still be hiding way up in the sky in his office.

This has been an absolute disaster of a season! Somehow there's always drama surrounding this team. It comes from the top down. The ownership is out of touch, belligerent and bombastic! MSG's draconian policies with their employees hurt team morale. Drury fired long time Head Trainer, Jim Ramsey for allegedly leaking the shouting match between Drury and Galant during the playoffs.

As far as this season is concerned, Drury, Laviolette and the team's "leadership" are all at fault for this epic and embarrasing failed season. It all started in the Summer. Drury should've never had the Trouba issue go public and just traded him in the Summer regardless of the Trouba family's personal situation was. The exit of Barclay Goodrow was really harsh and uncalled for. Drury could've taken a different approached with a popular vet like Goodrow who deserved thanks and praise and some sort of notice, at least a day to prepare him and his family. He was clearly sending a message. He should've communicated with the players about his displeasure on exit day. He hasn't shown the best interpersonal skills from what I can tell.

The Igor contract was another distraction he allowed for months on end and should've signed him before the start of the season. Then there was his "memo", that was leaked accidentally, on purpose to 31 GMs around the league. Not sure what he was trying to do there but it totally backfired. It goes to show you how disconnected he is with the personnel and how they would handle something like that. This team is mentally fragile, we all knew it yet he had no clue. This season is a total loss. The good news is, there's JT Miller, a much needed leader who should be named this team's Captain next season. Moving forward, here is the direction Drury should take to make this team a true cup contender, year after year.

In my opinion, this is how Drury should approach the next 2 seasons:

Step 1-Unload Kreider this Summer and get $6.5M in cap space.

Step 2- Try to make Mika uncomfortable enough to want to waive his no move.

Step 3- Get the best left D available, Jakob Chychrun. He's a perfect fit for Fox and close to a point per game this season on the
3rd paring for the Caps! He's big, mobile, can be physical and capable of playing big minutes. He should take a ton of pressure off of Fox.

Step 4-Trade K'Andre Miller, Lafrenière, Schneider and Jones.
Step 5-Trade Panarin next trade deadline if he's open to it.

The back end needs an overhaul and should be addressed first.

    2026 Free Agent Targets

    LW-Kaprizov
    C-Jack Eichel

    2026-2027 Potential Roster

    LINE 1 Kaprizov-Eichel-Perreault
    LINE 2 Cuylle-Miller-Kaliyev/trade Laf for a RW
    LINE 3 Othmann-Trochek-Berard
    LINE 4 Edstrom-Roobroeck-Rempe

    1ST D Chychrun-Fox
    2ND D Fortescue-Emery
    3RD D Soucy-Borgen

    Your thoughts?

  5. This D core is not championships caliber. I like Fox alot, I actually like Borgen, K Andre and Schneider have been massive disappointments, Uro Vakaninnen is an ok 6th or 7th defensemen, De Hann is ok, Jones is probably gone in the offseason, and then Sucy has not been around enough to make a formal opinion. However. As it stands this is the Rangers D pairings going into the rest of this year and next year:

Fox- (?) maybe Miller, or Sucy
    Borgen – Miller or Sucy
    Vakaninen – Schneider

Jones and De Hann most likely gone in the offseason or maybe 1 stays like de Hann for 900k. Jones is gone unfortunately.

Your telling me that those d pairing are championships caliber, hate to break it to you, but they are not.

Miller at this point in my opinion is the best version of himself. Drury should have traded him for Byram at the deadline since reports came out earlier in the year that he wants a significant raise, but that did not happen, so here is your D core for the rest of this season and most likely starting next season. Not good enough to win a Stanley Cup in my mind.

  6. Simply put, the Rangers are no longer watchable this year… we'll see what the product looks like next year, bc this year? They're done…….
