  1. The habs need a number 1 center , not that Suzuki isn’t , but why not go for the best available? Have 2 number 1 lines . With the low contract of Suzuki, caufield and Evans , it’s possible , they need another reliable centre to give option for their many wingers , if a winger(example demidov ) doesn’t click with Suzuki than give those young winger an option

It’ll be hard to find someone as smart as Suzuki and as good , teams don’t trade players that are better than Suzuki , unless the offer is too good to refuse

That’s what good team do , they pay big for their missing piece , look at 1st rounders and late 3rd rounder and Stanko for Rantanen , as those late first rounder rarely turn into much and 3rd rounders and later pick almost never turns into something good

Montreal need another center , needs to be a lefty

  2. Sorry I missed the stream guys, work call plus forgetting about the time change is my excuse this week. I just read a story about Toews wanting to come back for a swan-song. Given he'd be looking at the Blackhawks first (although Chicago didn't make him an offer when he was a UFA in April '23), I was wondering if he'd be an interesting 2C option for the Habs if he signed a short term deal for a reasonable amount. He says he has renewed interest, is healed and just wants to have fun. After a couple of seasons off on a 'healing' journey, he says he's still got something left in the tank and wants to return to the game. Nobody can dismiss his leadership qualities and experience, so if the fitness is there, could he be an interesting bridging option until the kids in Laval are ready? Thoughts? Thanks guys.

  3. Roy is only called up for a few games he’s going back to Laval looks like Newhook is playing Center the rest of the way Habs will probably call up another player in a week and keep trying other players for the rest of the year

  4. Every Stanley Cup team in the last decade had a stud d-man- Tampa (Hedman), Florida (Ekblad), Aves (Makar), Kings (Doughty), Blues (Pietrangelo) etc etc…Is Hudson that guy? Or Guhle? Something to consider while looking at talent…:)

  5. It is very normal to call up players for a few games to get a look at them to see who may be able to stay. I am not so sure if Roy is ready. They gave him a look earlier the year and it was not very impressive. Being a star in the AHL is not a guarantee he will succeed in the NHL. There is another angle. Showing these players in the NHL where there are scouts from other teams may be a way to show possible trade offerings.
