The San Diego Gulls battled to a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory against the Ontario Reign on Friday night. After falling behind in the first period to a power-play goal from Samuel Fagemo, the Gulls responded in the second with Roland McKeown finding the back of the net to even the score. Ontario quickly answered with a short-handed goal from Francesco Pinelli, but Yegor Sidorov tied things up once again later in the period. With neither team breaking through in the third, the game went to overtime, where Ryan Carpenter delivered the game-winner just 1:27 into the extra frame, assisted by Justin Bailey and McKeown. Goaltender Oscar Dansk stood tall, making 34 saves on 36 shots, earning third-star honors. With the win, the Gulls secured an exciting road victory and continued their push in the Pacific Division standings.
