For me #1 Star – Mourrisey, #2 – KFC, #3 Ehlers. Honourable mentions Tanev and Hellebuck! I appreciate the great happy intro again Nolan! I do disagree with your take on the trades. I think if Winnipeg could pick up Rantenen or Nelson they would have! I would not be surprised if Nelson did not want to come to Winnipeg! But also I do know that Chevy didn’t want to disturb the chemistry and picking up Tanev is great! Passionate player with playoff grade physicality, emotion and already build chemistry. Schenn to replace Stanley will be important! I think the 2nd line has not reached their peak yet and people will be surprised later. I do agree with the team being too loyal to bad players *cough Stanley. This team is close to as good as you could get for playoff readiness! Only thing that would have been better is Nelson or other Schenn for our 2nd line centre but I think everything will work out this way. I appreciate Will, Effort, and chemistry over talent and star power. Just look at Laine for Montreal, guys got half baked effort every other night when he’s got more talent in his a$$ then most players could even dream of!
We Thump the New Look New Jersey Devils 6-1 in 1st of 2 meetings this season sadly to hear the devils missing big piece of the roster Jack Hughes as he done of the season and including a whole postseason he is such important player of the team. In my thoughts of this year trade deadline is okay 👌 we need D-man to help on pk and we add scoring depth as we all know reunion Brandon Tanev (I Miss him so much in jets jersey) and I’m looking forward our new guy Luke Schenn. Luke Schenn is a big body guy 6’4 if he pairing with Logan Stanley that a scary height pairing 6’4 and 6’7. But still hoping Schenn and Tanev help us on playoff run I don’t care it a bad trade I love it and that okay we missed out 2C We should put Adam Lowry in 2C when it postseason time if Scott arneil allow it. GO JETS GO SEE YA IN SUNDAY AFTERNOON REACTION
Ya, not thrilled with the haul. I know Chevy wanted more; they have over 6 million in unused cap space, so they clearly wanted more. The difficulty in attracting players to Manitoba was very apparent this year (which is crazy, they're in first place ffs, you'd think they could pull a decent rental).
I was pissed at the time of the deadline, but hearing reasons why such as: the insane prices and people hating us but still wished to get more C depth.

I'm just not buying the not coming to Winnipeg anymore this was a simple case of not broadening your scope and getting a good backup plan with the next effective player. For example, do what Pittsburgh did you were telling me the Jets could not package together Novak and schenn? The move right there is just so obvious and convenient even a Morgan geekie or a Pavel zacha He just chose not to My impression is other than an exception of a couple of years, Chevy just does not understand and is so uncomfortable with player transaction during critical periods. It might be an idea divide his duties. Let him do the draft in which he loves and great at and perhaps get a grizzled Wiley player agent or former GM with connections that can do player transactions. Maybe an assistant GM or a director of NHL player transaction. Something like that
