Everyone, The reason the Flyers are bad right now is largely due to the previous 2 GM's in Ron Hextall and Chuck Fletcher, It has nothing to do with some of the coaching or current front office.
I know we dont have dept but for me too Many Ice time for Bobby Brink and not enough for Jacob Pelletier, how this Guy could proove something playing with Deslauriers and on the Right Side, Danny and Torts talking Together 🤷🏒
I agree with torts. If a player keeps making the same mistake over and over again or has a crappy attitude then the player needs to be held accountable. He did it with almost every other player on the roster and most of them worked on it and got better. This argument of holding other players accountable is a flawed one because well… he’s done it.
Side notes – I thought Sanheim’s penalty was soft and I usually give the benefit of the doubt to the refs… People need to just have patience with Drysdale. He keeps improving.
Konecny has been invisible for 2-4 weeks. I was at the game today and he floats or tries individual rushes. I know he is having a very good year but he needs a reset soon! I get it that Michkov has issues but Travis is guilty of bad play too!!
Truth is frustrating for him. Trying to squeeze a dime out of a nickel with this roster. Need to thread the needle every game to have a chance at winning. Any kind of dip…. Losses pile up. There's no elite talent to carry the team to those extra 12-15 wins. Need elite 1C & LW1. And 2 T4 Dmen. And I don't see them no matter how far & long I look.
Hang in there Mich, your still very young. Don't let Torts twist your brain into a pretzel. He will be gone soon and then you can enjoy playing and learning the NHL.
There's no culture, no leadership, and no learning as a team from these type of losses. The "rebuilding" plan needs to be redefined carefully going forward into the next season.
Now the roster sucks and they were rebuilding….flyers have long proven been an organization to develop players into greatness…you can have 50 first rounders until they win its useless assets!
Tortellini continues to say that is part of the process. It's 3 years – what process is he talking about. Like their PP, which has been last for the last 3 years. When you implement a process, typically, you begin seeing an upswing in the latter part of your 2nd year or during 3rd year. Zilch so far. This prehistoric needs to go.
He has no system. When you have weak talent, you put in place a system. Players are all over the place, no structure, multiple players side by side. He continuously benches Mich, but leaves Yorki, Tippet, Sanheim, and others alone. What Sanheim did at the end of the game was extremely selfish. Let's see if he gets benched next game.
Seriously! I've never been one of these people that wanted torts fired. I'm still not but holy cow! This old dog needs to learn some new tricks. Not all kids learn what you're trying to teach by getting sent to detention! You need to communicate, you need to stay involved. You can't just punish and expect a lesson to be learnt. This kid could be the most talented player this team has ever seen he deserves a coach that is willing to bend himself and put in more effort to teach and develop this kid. I would say I'm very disappointed with Tortorella's choices but like I said. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. Tut tut tut.
Konecny is not skating he should whatch when he was scoring shorthanded how he was so agressive almost unbeatable to get to the puck or on the other players we need the speed to put the puck in the net not stop and think or pass shoot in the net just look the tapes of last year he was leading the league to score shorthanded because he was so fast and that is for all the team speed guys speed first on the puck was our succes❤
Too slow and bad plays like trying to pass in bad spots instead of surprising the goalie whit a shot stop dribbling and make a slow motion movie again speed is the key and was our identity last year first on the puck❤
