Vitek Vanecek Gets Shutout in Florida Panthers Debut, Beats Buffalo Sabres

Vanecek made 21 saves in a shutout effort in his Florida debut.

Florida GM Bill Zito made a handful of trades, including acquiring Seth Jones from Chicago and Brad Marchand from Boston.

Thursday, Sergei Bobrovsky made 16 saves for his second shutout in three starts — and tied Tony Esposito for 10th on the NHL all-time wins list.
