Makes absolutely no sense that Lou sells Nelson but doesn’t commit to retooling… he half assed this deadline and only because Nelson didn’t sign an extension that he sold him. Which means if Nelson signed we would’ve stood pat… I actually hate Lou. He should lose HOF status for his last 5 years.
I'd offer Palmieri 2 years @ 4.25 – 4.5. I'd rather have Palmieri for two years to buy time for Eiserman and keep a solid player in the top six. Who is the last 2nd rd. pick to join the Islanders, and how many years after the draft did they join the team? I'll keep Palms. In two years, you have Danny Nelson, Ritchie, Eiserman, maybe Q. Finley in the line up, with Holmstrom, Barzal, Horvat, Duclair, and Tsyplakov, plus whatever FA they can sign in the summer (hopefully go for Ehlers).
From what I heard there were deals on the table for pageau and palms. Lou out of loyalty kept them. If the ownership of this team isn’t 100% brain dead ledecky needs to fire Lou
Even though it was a sellers market wingers were going for a lot less than centerman. Brad Marchand only got Boston a 2nd round pick while guys like Laughton and Charlie Coyle were getting really good returns. I think Palmeri would’ve gotten us a 2nd and a mid tier prospect. I’m fine with it honestly, he’s a good veteran presence for the team. Then again Lou should’ve picked a direction whether to start the rebuild or compete. He did neither
Another potential asset wasted! Palmieri should have been moved yesterday. He could have brought back at least a 2nd rounder in my opinion. Lou needs to be fired today!
If Lou isn’t fired after this season this ownership is clueless and honesty is in this ownership for other reasons (real estate) and I’m done with this team. I have everything from my 1972 year book to my last sweatshirt I got all packed and will be put away if Lou is still here. I can’t take this shit anymore

I heard the islanders had legit offers for JG, Anders, and Kyle and Lou did nothing, which is malpractice! It’s dereliction of duty, But what would you expect from a guy who is 83 and could give a dam about the teams future. Why would he!?
