Wow, we are such a traumatized Market!! We are survivors of an abusive relationship..so we assume the worst!! This isn't Benning, and I truly have more faith in this management, they did what they thought was right, not made moves to assuage all of us trauma cases! Jeez.
So it is coming down to the management firmly believes this team now, without or a less than 100% Hughes, injuried Demko, will be making the playoffs and have success there. I get it that playoffs experience is important, but it will be very sad if we end up losing Brock and Suter for free, or signing them to over-valued contract in the summer just to keep them around.
Seriously why the negatives? If you are comparing JR and Patrik to jimbo that's a disgrace Ryan. If no team offer us anything other than a 7th round pick for P Suter would you still take it? How about Boes? Clearly we think VERY highly of him but apparently no other teams want him that bad (my best guess is he was worth a 3rd round pick in a trade package). If Boes did not miss game 7 last year he'd have been worth way more for sure. Now nobody wants to trade for him, and he's not worth 9M, not even 8M tbh. (For reference, Rantanen got 12M and is a proven winner.)
One other thing I felt Don and Ryan got wrong is that, if there is any legitimate offer out there, you'd really think that Allvin and co would actually prefer to keep them around and not pull the trigger? And use the press conference to tell the world that Boes nobody is trading for you, re-sign with us instead! (Legitimate I meant by say a 1st round pick or a high end prospect in the AHL.)
Respect to the producer guy for speaking out. This management group stumbled into a good mine last season. And have proceeded to fuck everything up basically. But a real rebuild flooding the franchise with good young talent should have happened long long ago. Now they are here again.
And I'm sorry. Those that say Zadorov is not having good season in Boston. Bullshit go look at the fine print he's been their best defenceman and he's a big time culture guy they lost.
The JT/Petey thing was handled absalutley terrible and then they traded the wrong guy. Peteys trade value was way higher earlier in the season and a Power or Dobson may have been realistic. I could go on and on.
even though the trade deadline has passed, you can still sign & bring up new prospects until the playoffs (some even start their NHL careers IN the playoffs
I doubt they got good offers on either Boeser and Suter so Im fine with keeping them as internal rentals. And thank god they didnt do something stupid like throw away a top prospect and 1st rounder for a rental.
Long suffering fan here since 1970 and I'm happy they didn't make a move just to make a move. Read Henrik Sedin's reply to Drance's article in the Atlantic. Sedin nailed it exactly right. Why weaken the team when there was nothing worthwhile offered for Boeser or Suter. Epic fail??? Not in my opinion.
I just wanna ask: 1. what value will Boeser get if he will sign with another team with 25-30 goals on average? 6mil or more? BUT, Jake Debrusk signed with the Canucks at only 5.5 mil. 2. if the Canucks management team think Lakerrimaki can score 25 goals or higher, will they sign Boeser for more than 6mil?
I think they would like their young players to add to the team. They know their current players are not up to the high end levels.
Dubas, who isn't considered a good GM got a 2nd rounder for Beauvillie, GM Swede can't get a 1st for Boeser, even with retention. Either he didn't try or doesn’t know how, both are fire worthy.
Clearly the Kanuck mgmt. realized that this team is average at best and has a lot of issues going forward. Last year was a bit of a fluke and they realized one or two trades at the last minute weren't going to propel this team into the higher echelons of the league. There thinking, is that, if they can squeak into the playoffs and get at least 2 home games they'll consider that a successful season and start planning for the upcoming year. And that's about it.
an epic failure? WHAT WERE YOU EXPECTING? Boeser for Crosby? It's this kind of stuff that makes the Canuck fanbase look like idiots. Boeser now knows his place around the league and his wants will be lowered. Canucks made their trades BEFORE THE DEADLINE duhhhhh.
Yeah way to give up on the team guys. You guys are such good fans. No wonder this fan base are viewed as toxic. Bunch of throw in the towel bandwagoners. I hope the team puts you guys in your place.
Aquillini needs to go. Fans need to start protesting and demanding the team get sold. Sick n tired of his meddling and not committed to a full rebuild and only cares about his playoff revenue. Linden resigning should have been the first red flag for fans to know aquaman cant stay out of it
From last year’s great season to this year’s dumpster fire. Total disappointment 🙄 Guess that’s what us Canucks fans have grown to expect. Nothing but disappointment.
a lot of other teams doubt canucks. this was the time to shop the 2025 1st WITHOUT lotto protection. disappointing. Worth turning that pick into a player on contract…..OEL cap hit gunna be harder to deal with.

Hang on guy’s you need
To take a step back take a big breath and think about it ,the management know wats they are doing so please stop moaning
Dubas got a second rounder for beauvillier and we couldn’t trade BB or suter in this sellers market? Brutal

One epic failure of a day. Failed to make a trade. Failed to make a signing. Failed to broker their available cap space for a few picks.
So upsetting to be a fan
I'm amazed that no one has hired you guys to manage an NHL team.😂
Well said Ryan

Preach Ryan! This is brutal mismanagement.

nobody out there wants boeser though. he sucks ass now and is a third liner at best
You sad bro??

Too much drama ,as usual. I'm not a big Allvin fan but I am ok standing pat if you're not receiving decent offers for the players on offer.

Don Taylor is the OG, he truly knows the pulse of the fan base.
The cringy faux outrage from this Ryan guy will not gain him the following he so obviously craves

On this trade deadline Ryan Henderson is my spirit animal. What an epic rant. "It's pathetic!" SPIT!

if other teams aren't willing to trade…what are you supposed to do? Canucks can't force trades, it takes 2.

Alvin has developed a name for buckling in deals. A overpayer and under seller. He's no wheeler n dealer.
Wow. Appreciate this type of coverage from Ryan and Don. No sugar coating. What a micky mouse franchise.
