Big risk for Buffalo. Nothing worse than having a top 6 center out all the time
please don't jam anymore Toronto stuff , there are some many toronto cheerleader web sites , give us the rest of the league , with that you will be successful
Sabres fan here. If Sens fans think they are getting a Selke Trophy candidate and quality scorer, they're in for a rude awakening. the last couple years he has been bad on defense, scoring goals, playmaking and has no toughness. this is why the Sabres traded him, a defenseman and a 2nd round pick for an oft injured 8 million dollar player. Cozens has been that bad.
Every trade especially when it involves high end talent like the gentleman stated above about Josh Norris the connection or chemistry he has with his teammates, that said what good is Norris if he’s on the bench again in these last 20 games. People in Buffalo are disappointed about Cuzens leaving with his potential, & skillset having a season similar to Norris a couple yrs ago
The Senators needed 5 on 5 scoring and they addressed that with a more durable player like Cuzens. I think Norris is extremely good player that like everyone knows if he can remain healthy is a major asset to any team but this is time of year where the intensity goes up and guys are finishing checks for more often. Buffalo has a rep recently of stripping the fire from players , O Reilly , Eichel , hopefully Cuzens who scores most of his goals from the inside where in Norris is more of an outside shooter, PP guy and and an extremely dangerous one. Cuzens will give add a sizeable presence going forward who is much more suited for a playoff run. You have to give something to get something and both these young guys will be good additions. With all the shoulder work Norris has had I don’t even see him getting through one round of battle when the playoffs begin.
In terms of the Swede , I haven’t seen much of him but he’s because of where he’s played but he’s definitely got the points to prove he can put em up , he’s also a 5”11 220 who finishes he checks.
I was not sure how Staios & Poulin would navigate this but I think they did a great job. It’s always tough to lose good players like Norris & someone who I feel will be a solid D man in the league for yrs to come but the return was what the Senators needed in order to give them a chance to snag that spot as well as future success.
Cozens and Selke in the same sentence is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long time
L take from Laz, sure Tkachuk and Norris were good together but his advanced metrics are almost identical whether he's on a line with Norris or not.
Also Cozens has a lot of work to do if he wants to get back into a Selke conversation, he's been nowhere close for the past 2 seasons. I'm not saying it's impossible but he has to shed a lot of bad habits from playing in one of the worst systems in the NHL.
