THE NHL IS SHOOK (again)

Allllllrighty a second Rantanen trade has hit the news cycle Mr.Eck! That’s right! Mikko Rantanen has been traded now a second time from the Carolina Hurricanes to the Dallas Stars with Logan Stanko going the other way with some picks. That and more in today’s NHL hockey video!

  1. Sad too see MIkko leave the Avas, even more gutted to the stars, but Necas is a veryyyyy nuts compliment to Nate dog. Dallas v. CO holy smokes if that doesn't go all the way to a g7.

  2. Moose gonna get loose on the Avs defense if he gets the chance in the playoffs, but the Avs still won the trade cuz Neces is a more dynamic line mate for Nate, just look at the numbers.. Chuchu train back on the tracks helps a lot too to be fair

  3. Dallas fan here. Excited about Rantanen, but sad to lose Stanko. Hopefully, those two 1st rounders are late 1st round, otherwise this becomes an expensive trade. We have drafted well in recent years, so I am not excited to lose picks.

  4. Necas not wanting to resign in Carolina isn't true, it's just a rumor Hockey media in Raleigh constantly spread because Necas' dad wanted his son to play with Aho on the 1st line and to play on the 1st powerplay unit. (That's literally all Necas' dad said and the media went wild saying "Sell Necas now! He doesn't want to be here!")

It's a rumor that basically gets circularly sourced but isn't based in reality. Necas wanted to stay in Raleigh, his friends are in Raleigh, and he was completely blindsided by the Rantenan trade. Necas has said he wanted to stay with the Hurricanes.

There's a specific pair of anchors on 99.9 the fan in Raleigh that basically constantly spread this rumor whenever they wanted the Hurricanes to trade for someone, then the next week would be like "Let's stop hating on Necas"

  5. More than likely has to do with 1. Moving his family would suck and 2. Income tax. Texas is close enough to where he was and without income tax the money works more.

  6. Terrible work by the Canes. They had Guentzel and Rantannen only to have nothing to show for it. They gave up Necas for some picks.

  7. I can't help feeling that MacKinnon have boosted Rantanen throughout his career. In Dallas he'll probably be a ppg player worth like $8 mil/year.

  8. IN NILL WE TRUST! Seriously though, as a Stars fan I am beyond excited. Absolutely loved Stankoven and will miss him but he will do great things with the Canes. The time to win is NOW! Go Stars!

  9. Now let’s see those numbers without playing next to MacK. Oh ya that’s right, 3 or 4 points in 15+ games. Let’s see what kind of numbers he does being next to douche-ayne. Mikko Kinda overrated now if you ask me idk 🤷‍♂️
Maybe he will actually put in more than 50% effort every night since he won’t be carried by the 2 best players in the world anymore.

  10. I lived in North Carolina and not surprised neither Necas or Rantanen didn't sign–some of the dumbest people in the universe live there. You are not factoring in the fact that there are no state income taxes in Texas–so he will be making more than he did in leftist Colorado or NC

  11. Was he too greedy with Avs or was he pushed off from the team. Because if he wasnt greedy then i just dont see why anyone would say no thank you to 11.75 and playing with mckinnon and makar…. make this stuff make sense. At least he gets more support now in Stars than what he got in Canes.
