Leafs fans – every trade deadline, every off-season the fanbase is looking to improve defense, to improve everybody on the team but the top 4 – and every year, this team fayles. Your top 4 guys ARE THE PROBLEM – all soft – all heartless – all have never won a thing ever! ..Until your stars start owning other teams, it will be a constant shuffling of lower tier players coming in and out the line up, heart wins championships! Tavares is a bust! He wasn't signed to score a few points during season then run to the an early Tee-Tyme when spring arrives. Leafs had/still have visions of cup with that Tavs contract and he has been a huge let down. The Islanders have had more play-off success since Tavs left than the Leafs. I laugh when I hear Leaf-land insist that Tavs be signed back … that is classic Leafs mis-evaluation.
It looks like Boston is getting rid of any player who means anything to that team. Remember Bobby Orr, Ray Bourque, not to mention Joe Thornton, etc.
The Leafs improved but 1967 is quite a long time ago.
Hate to disappoint, Carlo is soft and does not use the body. He has a good reach that is it.

i would of rather had marchand go to the leafs. now he's going to be king of the rats. its like if the bruins traded ray bourque or cam neely to the montreal canadiens. wtaf?
Carlo is a giant Teddy Bear so don’t expect him to be physical.
Idk how Marchand for a second is even legal in this league unless it’s Boston conspiring to make sure some team can beat the shit out of Toronto
Love Carlo, great player, will miss him in Boston for sure but have fun with his games missed Toronto.

I don’t like what a female broadcaster(can’t remember her name)sitting at the desk with the guys said to hold off from signing extending Marner until he proves himself in playoffs coming up. I don’t think some of you media types appreciate how great Marner is. I think a few of us would be devastated to see him ever go. Thank you Steve, for your praise on Marner‼️
Hopefully if Jani resigns that's another 200 pound defender and hopefully gets healthy
Marchand plans to re-sign with the Bruins after the playoffs. The Bruins getting a 2nd rounder makes sense.
The leafs did alright but still not a contender for the Stanley cup. 2 or 3 years away

sucks to lose those draft picks and assets, but you can definitely recoup them back if/when you're bold/crazy enough to trade away some "popular" assets, so I'm not too worry about losing those future assets, every team has to suck at certain point, and the Oilers has proven that having early first rounders don't necessarily equal immediate success

Why did the Bruins trade Carlo? He is a vital component to a good team and a luxury to a bad one. He doesn't score and he's not a big hitter at all, but he's technically sound and does not make many mistakes.

We have seen glimpses of what this team can be and if that comes out consistently in the playoffs, oh man are we in for a wild ride. LETS GO LEAFS

So you've stated that scoring goals in the playoffs was the issue, but you've stocked up on "beef" and… you're stoked??? Whatever helps you sleep at night I guess. Enjoy getting caved in by a team from FL in the playoffs.

The last few minutes of this video, to me, really shows how the Leafs r in a great space cap wise, and that will get better this summer! The transformation of this team to BIG, STRONG and tough to score against continues under Tree/Berube…..i hope for a great playoff this year, but next year looks like our BEST shot imho…….

Despite the Panthers trying to load up, a couple of significant points, Marchand, hurt may be out for a few weeks, really hated in that room. Tkachuk out for the regular season, very simply.put, the Panthers may not gel as folks may think and the awkwardness of having the most hated human being in that room may not go swimmingly. Brad Treliving did a phenomenal job, out Timmins, in Carlo, out Dewar, Laughton in, huge wins. Did we give up Minten and picks yes, but nobody will care when we are sitting at the parade!!! Let's go!!!

Marchant and Tuchuk are both injured, so they are not going to help much with a 1st place push but 🤔 the Lightning is the team I'd be worried about
