A bit of an overpayment should of been one or the other nit a 1st and Minten, but he is a very good defenseman and should make a huge difference to see the like of Carlo , Tanev , McCabe these guys are going to bring pain .
It is a big price but we are going to love him. And it's not a rental. They both are coming with term and salary retention

Leafs have plenty of 2nd and 3rd pairing defensemen…..but sadly no 1st pairing.
Considering the difficulty Treliving inherited with the absolute mess Kyle Dubas left with depleted picks and prospects cupboards that haunts the team still and the massive over-pay sellers were asking and getting this year, "Tree" managed to find a way to get two of the team's greatest needs taken care of and not in a gap-fill manor, these two additions are 100% needle movers who will lift the team over the playoff hump and give them a legitimately tough presence for their strongest competition, Tampa and Panthers.
This Leaf team will not be considered inferior at any position and they now have a legitimate cup contender with size, strength and skill at every position. The Leafs will roll out 4 monstrous scary lines and the competition had better hope there's a sale on depends, they'll be needing them!!
Nick and Darius have done a great job building their channel and they deserve all the good things they no doubt have coming. "LEAFS DIGEST" put out great content daily and multiple times a day.
Unlike so many other Leaf channels, with exceptions such as "Hat Trick HQ" and my bros Mark. KC and others, Leafs Digest don't throw filler reports at you, they have legitimate news that, as a 5 decade plus Leaf fan, I want to hear, and as a former Maple Leaf web site & Forum owner (League of Uncles) many years back, I appreciate the effort and the time I know that has to go into LEAFS DIGEST.
I might goof on them the odd time about their abuse of the word "HUGE" but that's what it is, I'm goofin on them and I think they've come to understand there's a senior, a former "rock star" lead vocalist/writer/rhythm guitar player causing trouble in the comments and most likely on some kind of extremely powerful medication and it's probably best to swat me upside the old skull with a heavy old school Grant Fuhr goalie cue now and then while ignoring me otherwise and I'll fall asleep with my long luxurious chick magnet hair in my warm milk….and whisky!!

Minten won’t be anymore then a 3C . However Carlo has struggled a bit this year , but if he can be the player he usually is this is a good deal
I would have liked someone with a bit more offense Ristolainen would’ve been perfect because he’s physical too . Carlos hasn’t played his best this year , but if he can find his game it will be a good pick up.
If Carlo can find his game again it’s a good trade . 28 year old 6”5 right handed shot with 2 years left on term at only $4M.

Thats going to be a solid contract 2 years from now when hes 30 and the salary cap is well over 100 million. Hes exactly what they need in a nuber 6 defencman. This defence is getting pretty scary. aside from morgan reilly. I wonder if Reilly and Carlo would fit. because ideally I would like to pair them together as a 3-4 pair

Thats one solid defence corp. I like that trade tbh. The fact that the lighting had to give up what they did for gourde and bjork at first i didnt know what to think about it. But its rowing on me. Im just glad they didnt sit on their hands and keep their firt round picks. theres no need for a team whos taking a run at the cup to be keeping their first round picks… those should be used to make the team better. Thats how you win a cup. If youre worried about trading first round picks that means you dont believe in your team.

These are all his career worst stats , no wonder BOS fleeced us in the trade HUGE lol!

It's a good trade that helps solidify the defensive core especially now that the Leafs have Stolarz in goal.
I don't think it'll be enough to get them to the finals but should they acquire a menacing goalscoring forward then start the parade 🎉
I hate giving up Minton and Grebenkin in the trades. However Carlo is 6'5" Carlo and Laughton. We needed these players. Resign them as needed. In the oft season, go get Bennett Frederic and etc . Might get out of the 1st round, but definitely out by the 2nd round. You're in the right direction, but need much more
Boston were not having a good year and both players going happy to go to Toronto and Connor Timmins and dewaer going to the penguins. For a draft pick to them cap compliance.
My thoughts are that Carlo was a huge add. Wondering how hurt Tanev is. I hope Laughton is as good as some claim but I feel like we overpaid. Florida is still the team to beat , especially after they added Marchand to live rent free in the heads of the Leafs.
