All I want to hear about Detroit acquiring at the deadline is draft picks and cap space. Anything else is playing into a fantasy of a playoff push.

7:40AM on Thursday. I could see them taking Stamkos with some retained that gets us close to that original contract offer that was rumored. So 16 million plus this season over the next 2 years and change. Maybe a little over.

I just don’t buy the “Larkin and Raymond are tired” excuse. There are so many players lighting it up right now, that played every game of the tournament.
It is going to be hard for many fans to accept this, the Wings are just not ready, it cant be any more obvious than the Carolina game, who just bullied the Wings without any fear the Wings were going to burn them for it. Cant win a board battle, lazy passing in their own end, cant get bodies to the front of the net, terrible turn overs all over, slow to react and end up chasing the puck around for too long, like the other night for almost 5 minutes. Even if Steve were to make a move what does that mean? A slightly better chance at getting swept in the first round? Tarasenko hasn't worked out, Berrgren hasnt been great.
I've been looking at the difficulty of the last two months of the schedule all season and thinking if they don't have a hefty cushion going into march, they are going to miss the playoffs. Unfortunately it's proving true at this point. The team is cooked unless they go on a crazy god-tier heater, which seems unlikely. My guess is they miss the playoffs by 5 points.
Is the Ilyitch divorce handcuffing Yzerman from making a trade deadline move???

Steve Yzerman wanted to give us a reason to buy Extended Series, so he brought up Mazur. lol
Tarasenko does stick out like a sore thumb. With all the chances he gets, if he was a Nyquist or someone like that who is winding down but still can put the easy ones in the net, the team would have probably won a few more games even since the coaching change. He's had the puck in so many great situations, and he just can't finish anymore.
Is it time to call it quits with the joe veleno experiment? Whenever i see him on the ice i go "ok so we're not scoring this shift"
We have to us e an AHL D, that can pop into the line-up and play better than Holl. He should of went on waivers instead of Fish!!!!
Why did we get rid of Ghost, Walman, Maitta??????? We wouldn't have any D problems then….Gus, Holl are ridiculously horrible!!!!
It's really hard on berggren that he's been stapled to Senko all year. He's consistently set him up in great spots with no end result.
