  1. What kind of state will Tampa be in 2 years from now? Stanley Cup champs of course. Enjoy the 32nd overall pick Seattle.

  2. Bjork on 2. We've had a hole there all season. Gord is a 4/3. Third has been good with Paul, Girg and Chaffe. Coop played Esy as a 3/4 filler when they needed to checking and glending is a faceoff guy, we play 7d 11f and basically no 4th line

  3. I think red wings fans won too in a smaller way. that retention is negligible after the season. And we get a draft for doing so as part of our own trade package or using at the draft.

  4. 2026 and 2027 1st round picks are top 10 protected, but if they get punted to 2028 (or 2028 and 2029, if both are punted), then Seattle gets an additional 3rd from TB in the year(s) that the 1st round pick(s) get punted to.

  5. Sucks as a Kraken fan that we're in a position to have to move Gourde and Bjorkstrand, but it's definitely the right move considering what they got. And seems like a good move for Tampa as well, since they get two good players to try to stay in the hunt a bit longer and keep those draft picks later in the first round.

  6. If Mike Grier was the Kraken GM he wouldve traded Gourde & Bjorkstand for a 7th rounder and a career ECHL player and Grier nuthuggers wouldve praised him as a god.

  7. Looks like Seattle is cashing in their chips for a "rebuild," if you want to call it that. Their prospect pool is already solid enough that I like this. Hopefully, the 5 Year Plan works out for them.

  8. As Seattle fan, I am sad to see Bjorkstrand and Gourde go but, that haul makes it a bit easier. Not that it was unexpected, but just that they are such great players. Definitely wishing them the best in Tampa.

  9. number of tampa players that can grind on the boards has gone up, good thing to have going into the playoffs.

  10. Sad to see Bjorkstrand and Gourde go, but this makes a ton of sense. They get two firsts for the future and cap relief come the summer. They could possibly get to the playoffs next year, but the way the west is setup, it’s still going to be a wildcard slot. Seattle was supposed to be able to weaponize their cap, but they locked up assets that are only good, not great. Keep the building project going. Maybe there’s another deal to be made?

  11. I like the trade overall I think it'll really help Tampa's third and fourth line. I'm not real fond of trading away All the first round picks but hey I got to give the benefit of the doubt to the GM he usually makes pretty good decisions.

  12. Tampa is about to pull a yzerplan it seems. It’s gonna be a very long decade for them after the next year or two

  13. Maybe Seattle will be able to package some of these picks and secure a top 4 spot if they don’t get it through the lottery. I understand the top 4 prospects are thought to be franchise altering.

  14. Tampa has also shown with letting Stamkos go that they aren’t afraid to make the hard moves to stay competitive. And consider the fact none of their stars are really the same age I see this team being good for a long time
