The Oilers are 9th best in the league when it comes to Shots Against Per Game. Problem is, half of them go in the net. The goaltending situation is an absolute dumpster fire. Goalies are 49th (Skinner) and 53rd (Pickard) for Save %, and rank 40th (Pickard) and 48th (Skinner) in GAA. We can try to deflect the focus onto other players, but how are they supposed to play confidently when they know they'd be better off with a cardboard cutout of Grant Fuhr in the net?

Craig i agree with you most times, but if your going to point the finger at the best oiler all year on the 5th goal (leon) you better call a spade a spade with the 2nd goal, that was pickards fault 100%. No mention of it at all……

Another disgraceful Oilers performance! I usually analyze who became the "white crow" or the "black sheep", but this time I would simply say: statistics don't lie! Stats: goalkeeper Picard allowed 4 goals SV% = 0.636, goalkeeper Skinner 2 goals SV% = 0.875, worst trio: Matt Savoie (-4), Draisaitl (-4), Arvidsson (-3), all defenders simply awful stats except Eckholm ( 0 ). I think defense and goalie coaches get too comfortable in their jobs. The GM must shake up this swamp! 😜
Pickard allowed multiple ugly goals but by no means was he the ONLY reason the Oilers lost their most-recent game: 6–2 on home ice to the Ducks.

EDMONTON’S OILERS ACHILLES HEAL “DARNEL NURSE”.. his plus/minus was -13 in playoffs last year.. Oilers are lying about his plus/minus this year also.. I have proof of this .. his decision making is 3rd pairing level.. he completely distracted McDavid last year in the playoffs with his poor play… it was an embarrassment to fans with depth of understanding of our game.. legacy media, social media podcasters won’t talk about this issue but they know it’s true.. please trade DARNEL NURSE.. Darnel Nurse is a failing defenceman.. I’ve coached defenceman for years and this kid doesn’t have it… unfortunately oilers will never win the Stanley Cup with this player and are too cowardly to deal with him !!! 🛑
