The game is at the highest level, way above 90s era of all other guys. So yeah, he is the greatest already considering it is much harder to achieve those numbers nowadays

Just so everyone knows the greatest does NOT equal the best. McDavid is definitely the best player we’ve seen since Mario retired, but greatness is built on accomplishments. As of right now, he’s done almost everything. That being said, he NEEDS at least one cup and a Conn Smythe to even be in that conversation. If he can’t accomplish that, then he’ll always be the greatest to never win a cup. Ask Marcel Dionne about how that looks on a resume.

This guy is from the future. The best was last years stick handling skills competition where he lost thr puck 3 times and still won by a second. That's how good he is

"How Good Is Connor McDavid Actually?" Saw him play live for the first time a couple weeks ago in Anaheim. Brought my 15 year-old daughter with me to the game. She'd never watched a hockey game in her life. Having zero knowledge of Connor McDavid's existence beforehand, she picked him out in pre-game warmups and exclaimed, "Wow! Who's that guy?" McDavid is so damn good that he is immediately noticeable to the untrained eye. Impressive.

When Crosby entered the NHL scoring per game was actually higher than it was this year 3.03 goals per game vs 2.99 this year so its been pretty similar. Also crazy to consider that back then each team averaged 480 powerplays where teams rhis year are lucky to get hakf that many opportunities.
McDavid is the ONLY player that I can say without a shadow of a doubt will get over 2000 points. It’s not a matter of if but when. He is truly amazing and I feel blessed to be able to watch him in my lifetime. My mom got to watch Gretzky, but that was before my time. I get to watch McDavid 🤙

With the Stanley Cup on the line in last year's Finals, McDavid put up exactly ZERO points in game 7….Yes he's a great player, but at this point he has to be considered NOT a big game player. He's got to put up at LEAST 2 points in that game, its a game 7 with the Stanley cup on the line and he produces nothing, sorry but if you're the generational player everybody says you are, and I'm not saying he's not, then you HAVE TO put up at bare minimum 2 points in that game 7. If he does that the Oilers would have won that game and the Cup, they lost 2-1, and McDavid contributes ZERO points, he's a great player, yes, but not yet a big game player….
HE NEEDS SOME MOTIVATION RIGHT NOW…I THINK DRAISITLES RAISE HAS GOTTEN TO HIM….RIGHT NOW THE OILERS LOOK LIKE THE FLAME OR SHARKS ….THE OILERS ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS MCDAVID IS PLAYING
