  1. Frederic is a good banging forechecker, but he's out with a serious ankle injury, so the Oilers are kind of rolling the dice on him being 100% for the playoffs. All those cap banking deals by 3rd parties isn't doing a lot for league parity.

  2. It'll suck to lose Tanev, as he's one of our few physical players, but from what i heard the big driving factor in the trade decision is him wanting to be traded to a cup contender team (Jets currently are the top prospect for that trade right now, and would not be surprised if that's where he lands.) Sounds like the front office know he's unhappy at the moment, so it's less about wanting to dump him, but knowing that freeing his spot which he is unhappy in will help out with the skills retooling for the long term(which is what i'm saying instead of "rebuild") and bringing up one of the young Coachella Valley players that's been in the development farm. I get irrationally angry when people say Seattle is in rebuild mode, or need to tear it down and enter rebuild because honestly? The team is still building from the draft. 27-28 will be our big playoff year based off the pipeline, and if i were a betting person, i'd put some serious cash on that.

Also expectations for tonight's game against the wild: It's going to be a chippy as hell game! Grubauer is expected to start tonight after his stent in Coachella Valley, so should be interesting. Kinda hoping they play Fleury tonight for reasons i will not curse by speaking aloud.

  3. Jake Evans for 2.85 is obsurdly low, given the year he's having and his intengebles, I wouldn't have been surprised to see him get something similar to Yakov Trenin got last offseason, since he's frankly a much better player

  4. Looked up Fredric and saw he's only 26 years old. I thought he was some old guy the way everyone's been talking. Don't have much confidence in the Devils from what I've seen this year. They have good players but they're not a very good team, sorry to say. I wouldn't be surprised if they're the ones who end up out of the playoffs.

  5. Edmonton gets Max Jones and 575k for Trent Frederic yet Bruins fans are stating they "won the trade" … the 2nd round pick is great but the 4th round pick could turn out to be a player of similar quality as Petr Hausea. Frederic turned just 27 years old last month. Oilers won the trade no doubt 🤣🤣

  6. Thanks for the video! Great info, details, and insights! My guesses for Tuesday include Bruins, Sabres, Canes, Bolts, Flames, Jets, Stars, Avs, Oilers, and Wild. Some nice matchups tonight. Canes vs Wings and Pens vs Avs are what I will watch though the Devils vs Stars feels important for both teams.

Good for Evans. It's well deserved. Crazy three-way trades always seem like something can get missed and one of the teams missed dotting an eye or crossng a t. Marchand might be pretending to avoid some trade talk. I feel bad for Hughes as it seemed a faultless board collision. Kraken might get some takers.

Blackhawks are lookng like they might be playoff spot contenders next year if they put a few more bits together. Spenser Knight was amazing in goal but Bedard is still having trouble playing up against the big boys.

  7. Great news! My picks for tonight are bruins, sabres, hurricanes, lightning, flames, jets, stars, avalanche, oilers, and wild. Good luck everyone!

  8. 10 minutes into the Flyers and Flames game saw 4 goals on 10 shots, looks like it did start out proving you wrong.

  9. Oh my gosh I love Evans so much. I thought that said 28 million over 4 years and panicked like oh jeezus okay he’s not that kind of player. The relief when I realized that 2.85 is the CAP hit. I am OVERJOYED RIGHT NOW

  10. I am so happy that Evans is staying, I was even fine if the contract was worse than this. Amazing job by Hughes to get this contract for Evans

  11. a 2nd and a 4th for Frederick??? Sounds like Boston got the best of that deal. I think the loser is NJ. They took on cap money for nothing.

The Evans deal seems quite reasonable.

  12. Wow! Evans at that price is a bargain. I almost feel bad for him, he gives us so much on the defensive end. Very unselfish of him. Glad he's staying.

  13. Jackets have the cap space to facilitate 3 team trades. Also the fact that if a team does make Don Waddell an offer he can't refuse for Provorov that team has to sign him for 8 more years and the Jackets would need another defensemen to take those minutes. Besides, Provorov would be cheaper after the season as a sign-and-trade to get that 8th year.
