Is it suspicious that Panthers put Matthew Tkachuk on LTIR?

Bryan Hayes joins SC with Jay Onrait with guest host Jennifer Hedger for another edition of Harvey’s Hot Takes, where they chat whether it’s suspicious that the Panthers put Matthew Tkachuk on long-term injured reserve, whether the Oilers would move Evander Kane if he’s activated off LTIR, and whether he thinks the Leafs could beat the Panthers or Lightning in the playoffs.

  1. Ofc yall would say this yall are all leafs fans and u mad Florida whoops up on yall in the playoffs. Now what if we don’t even make a move with the extra LTIR money then what. Y’all Canadians are some of the softest mfs around I swear

  2. In order for a player to be eligible for LTIR he need to have the approval of a certified physician
I doubt that physician would be dumb enough to put his career in danger just for this.

  3. Hayes, don't hate the player hate the game? Really? Because it is the fans you will hate the game. You know the players and media's meal ticket. long term contracts were not illegal but teams got penalized for them and the same should be happening now with LRIT fraud being committed every trade deadline. Also the cap has to count at the most important time of the year, the PLAYOFFS!

  4. He's just a behotch. Only fights people he can beat up that are smaller than him once someone that actually knows how to fight puts hands on him he wilts, to heck with both the trumpster brothers.

  5. Considering the fact that Tkachuk didn’t play against Sweden and barely played in the championship game, I don’t know where all this “suspicion” is coming from. Chucky ain’t the type to just sit out games for no reason and he was obviously in some major discomfort during the 4 nations after the first Canada USA match.

  6. Florida teams doing what Florida teams do best. Maybe Kucherov will lend him his tshirt. It’s funny that even with zero taxes, teams need to pull the get out of jail free card for a chance of winning.

  7. VGK have gotten away with it x2 and won a Cup doing it so I am just surprised more teams do not do it!
Saddest part is TOR started Robidas Island but yet completely suck at it lol!
In TOR if we could get Rielly to go on LTIR right now we could afford a good defense because Rielly has been awful!

  8. What's wrong with greasy? Nothing better than a big ol' greasy Montreal pizza to cure a Hangover. If there's a loop hole, every team can use it. I know Hasey wants leafs to push for 1st place to secure home ice and start playoffs away from Florida.msybe put 34 on ltir and pickup whoever they need to win a cup.

  9. How is this a greasy move? He has played over half the season. He got injured, and that’s how the rules are written. Florida has never abused it like other teams have so why make that accusation? It’s just for ratings because the “suspicion” is a load of bs. Must be slow media days. What’s greasy, is what Edmonton is attempting to do with Kane. Also, what Vegas does with Stone. These guys play minimal to no games all season and they somehow miraculously are healthy for the playoffs.

  10. The way Matthews has played this year he should have missed half the year at the start to get completely better …and the fact that it would help their cap situation doesn't hurt

  11. Matthews has been fighting it all year. Need to follow suit and shut him down until the playoffs. Gotta fight fire with fire. Tired of other teams coming in 10 mill over the cap in the playoffs and pretending they aren't doing it on purpose.
