  1. Great signing and I do hope Evans stays however Habs could still trade him by the deadline as his contract is now even more attractive to many teams which could result in a better return. I do not see this happening however in any case, this is a win win scenario by Hughes. Job well done!

  2. Excellent signing we couldn't get better elsewhere for the price. Evans a true team player who shuts down other teams on the PK and 5 on 5 to sacrifice his numbers for his club. Way to go Kent!!

  3. I am glad Jake thought it out. for if he would have been traded as a rental player for the last stretch of the season does not mean the team whould have offered him a 4 + million deal per season.
stability is important for young families. that was a wise siganature by Jake evens. there since the time he was selected for the habs. Jake has proven Bergevin wrong in what Bergevin said once: '' if you want faithfulness get a dog'' or something in that meaning. Jake prooves he wants and likes to play in MTL .He wants to be part of all those hard years towards a Stanley cup working his … offf to improve his game and he has. Congratulations to the Habs and to Jake Evens.

  4. wowwwww what a great deal!!! true team player, everyone in that room is happy he is staying, and it will show on the ice. I said it last season, he deserves an A on his jersey…

  5. team culture cannot rule the managing of the team.a GM is there to improve the team GM cannot get emotional close to his players. He can have a realistic view of the needs of the team. and manage the salary cap efficiently.

  6. I would have paid Jake more, but it's definitely a plus that he's staying with the Habs. He plays hard, and he has heart. You can't teach those.

  7. Jake Evans was SCREWED by his true loyalty to the team , i wouldn't blame him if he pulled off a Dvorak for the next 4 yrs

  8. This does signal that Montreal are indeed going to be buyers for the trade deadline this year for the first time since 2021

  9. I was at last night's game and just all the little things that Jake Evan does is just a big deal that lots of regular folks don't get. Points sure are great but having a stick at the right spot that deflects or stops a pass on the pk….killing time instead of just dumping it immediately…winning faceoffs at critical situations. Stanley cup winning teams needs players like that. So glad that we get to keep Jake Evans for 4 more years at such a great team deal!

  10. Montreal have 5 of the best deal in all of the nhl , Evans , Suzuki, caufield , Monty and matheson are all underpaid and probably the best bargains in the nhl

  11. Cooking with Kent .He cooks up the Best 👌 wtg Evans so glad you're staying 😋 ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉

  12. Thank God a lot of Habs fans are not running the organization. I heard a lot of people saying 3.5-4m was not a problem, lol

  13. Thank you Jake Evans , hope the fans give you a standing ovation at the next home game .

Now extend Armia , built a 3rd shutdown line that’ll take the stress away from other lines

Make that third line Armia-Evans – Anderson and leave room on the 4th to slowly bring rookies up on the team . Hope they find a quality 1b center , Suzuki is a beast but the habs needs to find another Suzuki so they can become a legit contender

Anyway you look at it this rebuilt is done , there only 3 things to do, find a left hand center , a 1st pairing right handed defenseman and wait for the prospects to develop

  14. SONOFABITCH!! That's FANTASTIC news. I was very prepared to hear the exact opposite. Bravo to Hughes, Gorton and Co. Welcome home Jake.

  15. The choice was pretty clear.
Go away as a rental player, then renegotiate based on the few months he had with a new team, or not and sign somewhere else as a free agent having no clue where that could possibly be. He could have ended up in Nashville… and then what??
    OR
Sign now for a bit less money, but with a guarantee that you'll be playing with this group of guys, who are definitely on the way up and could be serious contenders while he's playing this contract.

Hockey is a business, but it's also about passion and teamwork. Money doesn't buy championships… just ask the Maple Leafs…

  16. You are way too excited about everything and I am a diehard habs fan since 1974 but you absolutely drive me crazy. I would never subscribe to your channel.
