@New Jersey Devils

Devils fans are furious right now…

We need to talk a nasty looking injury to Jack Hughes, which also plays on a supposed long-term conflict between Sheldon Hughes and Wes McCauley.

  1. I mean it's hockey, it happens. Obviously not intended to happen. Eichel easily could have been hurt on this as well.

  2. OF COURSE IT WASN'T INTENTIONAL…THAT DOESN'T MEAN ITS NOT A PENALTY….WHAT A JOKE…….ONLY POSITIVE IS THAT MARKSTROM LOOKED GOOD

  3. Keep it up and Macauley might put a publication ban in effect, so nobody can question his actions in public forum, just like Jim “Frost” did.

  4. the devils finished 7th in the metro with a 38-39-5 record and 81 points last year. with 20 games to play, they are in third place with a 33-23-6 record and 72 points. and you comment "i thought they were going to take a step this year." 🙄

  5. Eh, if guys are back checking hard to catch a guy on a partial break, and the guy comes too hard tripping their guy into the boards, accidentally or not, that SHOULD absolutely be penalized, and suspensionable imo. Those are the plays that create dangerous desperation situations, and the guy who got caught out of position or covering should absolutely be fully in control of his skates, stick, and shouldn't put another player in a position to get injured etc. The player is responsible. The league SHOULD be careful with penalizing these situations since it can and will, and has caused significant injuries for years. If they want that shit out of the game, that's the only way to do it.

  6. Injured in a crash. Ouch, it’s like AI predicted Jack would crash into the boards before he did.

  7. Big props to Eichel on checking in right away, I despise the Golden LTIRs but he’s always been one I’ve respected. also I actually agree with both calls, although an ejection for getting mad your star player got injured is complete bullshit regardless of what he said.

  8. "enters the offensive zone/end"…"skates toward the net"… NOT "drives the net". Thanks.

  9. further proof ref bias exists the league will do nothing about it becasue it is sanctioned by the league.
incidental and unfortunate resul of contact- no call to be made in my opinion, as others have been missed or just not called have been far worse

  10. The refs didn't call a trip but on the NHL website the play was described thusly: "Hughes, a center, was TRIPPED into the end boards by Golden Knights forward JACK EICHEL during a breakout while short-handed."

  11. Second play it looks like as he goes down he hooks him down. The first play just seems like accidentally contact because jack didnt know when hughes was gonna stop and his eyes are on the puck. Prob busted collar bone

  12. BTW, that MOST CERTAINLY WAS INTENTIONAL. BUT, even if it was not intentional – STILL A TRIP!
Dirty (and clean) players start using this method of tripping in Bantam hockey now – used to be a Midget/Junior thing.

  13. Sucks but not a penalty in any league.. Sheldon Beefe is a moron for getting kicked out for that

  14. "But it was an accident" it's still a trip. High sticks are accidents they still get called it's 100% a penalty idk how you can say otherwise

  15. To many ACCIDENTS happen in Vegas! Stones dirty ass took #4 for Dallas as well, Guess what their best defenseman!!!!! Jack best offensive man!!!!!! Dirtbags!!!!

  16. Just a matter of time. Boy playing a man’s game unfortunately. NHL is increasingly about size and weight. Small Shifty guys with talent will unfortunately be “run into the boards. Can’t believe Panarin has made it this far
