  1. Florida got hosed. I bet the Bedards would have taken less and retained more of that abysmal contract. Ugh, no more backup goalie prospect fun…..

  2. As a Hawks fan I see this as an absolute win. Jones since day one always felt like a terrible fit for where the team was at and has at times looked like a liability on the ice. Chicago has really needed a definitive #1 goaltender that they just haven’t been able to draft, Knight is plenty young, has won a cup, and has all the potential to really blossom into the answer in net we’ve really needed. That 1 for 1 on top of a first rounder and only having to retain a quarter of the Jones contract makes me extremely happy with how this turned out

  3. jaxson stauber's in utah now. dude deserves an actual chance at a full time backup job. he's always impressive when up.

hawks have mrazek, brossoit, soderblom, commesso, and now knight. and gajan in the system.

hawks got more value here than they should have, especially if knight becomes the goalie envisioned when he was drafted. florida is now exposed in net if bob gets hurt. i'm not confident in driedger. maybe they should give utah a call about stauber.

  4. Thats all good and well so at least we can read Yvonnes handwriting, not like shannons chicken scratches
so lets start a petition for Yvonne to do the boards now .. hahhahahah

  5. I liked seeing the contract on the board as being "year 3 of 8" rather than saying he's signed through 2029/30, makes it easier to understand for me.

    Keep up the good work!

  6. I absolutely love this trade as a Panthers fan. I think it’s a great hockey trade and both teams win in this scenario

  7. I’m confused. Florida trades the 26 1st round to Chicago. But it can move to 27 if they want to trade it again? Since when can you trade the same pick multiple times?

  8. Nobody seems to be mentioning the future of Panthers goaltending – is Driedger next up after Bobrovsky now? Do they have anyone in the pipeline?

  9. Panthers never really replaced Brandon Montour. Not saying Jones plays a game the same as him, but having a second pairing right handed defensemen was something they really could use.

  10. Just a bad trade for the panthers, jones is one of the worse dman low hockey IQ has the skillset to be good but for whatever reason seems like he doesn't care to play smart or hard, it's like he's playing just for a payday. Plus how did they not get blackhawks to retain atleast 50% of his pay? Panthers will have to pay him till 2030 at 7 mill that's nuts, this trade will not age well but i guess if they are hoping to win the cup this year and not worry about the future.

  11. I think Jones will thrive in Fla. He will be surrounded by good players and he is one himself. He can play big minutes as an added bonus.

  12. perhaps the hawks can interest the stars in a.martinez? he has an expiring contract, dallas has the ltir space. and it probably wouldn't cost much.
