  1. Lindgren is solid but his biggest problem is his situational awareness in regards to his body. Dude always is getting injured taking a big hit

  2. Love Lindgren but idt the general public realizes just how bad he has been the last 2 seasons. Like bottom of the league level defense on a guy that's supposed to be a defensive defenseman. Arguably a huge part of why fox has taken a step back recently

  3. I feel Rangers get an A grade on the trade and Avs get a D+ at best. Lindgren and Vesey have fallen so far off this year, and I wish them the best in rebounding, but then the depth prospect in Kempf, all of that returns two depth players who have played better this season, a 2nd, 4th, unreal pull for the rangers. The 50% retained is for this season only too of course so Rangers dominate this trade and it’s not close.

  4. Lindgren has regressed significantly this season. He is damaged goods and will have his career hindered by injuries while his contract expires and he asks for more. Parsinnen is an upgrade from Vesey no doubt. I hope we can bring in Mario Ferraro. He's a similar player to Lindgren, just slightly younger, and more affordable. Lindgren has more points (14 more), but he's played for the FAR better team his entire career

  5. Don’t overlook Vesey. He’s the exact kind of bottom 6 veteran player teams need for a Cup run. Can play multiple positions, can kill penalties, plays smart defensively and plays hard.

  6. I love this trade for my Avs we needed a stay at home defender and we barely had to give up anything to acquire him the salary retention was the icing on the cake

  7. Hoping Lindgren is able to just be a plus up from De Haan. He's very meh, don't expect him to do more than somewhat mind the net in the Dzone, and somewhat pass the puck in the transition/Ozone.

  8. I expect Lindgren will get paired with Girard for now, until Manson returns.

    What do you think about all the comments that Lindgren has lost a lot as a player over the past couple seasons? People are saying that his physical, self-sacrificing style of play has taken its toll on his body.

  9. As a Rangers fan I always felt Lindgren was a good player but he seemed to take unnecessary hits. You like a player who sacrifices the body to make a play, but Lindgren did it when he didn’t need to. It was like he was trying to prove something. I’m not that sorry to see him go, I don’t think his style is a good long term thing. Vesey just never gelled. Who knows why.

  10. Lindgren hasn't been the player he was in the past this season. His playing is slipping a bit. I think this is a good move by NYR, although I will miss him.

  11. Lindgren has been slipping and getting hurt more , he needs to play less minutes and have a puck moving d partner to succeed

  12. Lindgren will play way less minutes and that’s a good thing. He’s not supposed to carry a defense. He can kill penalties, block shots and be a pain in the butt. That’s why he’s in Colorado. Good fit.

  13. Love THG but this is one of the few times I disagree with his assessment. As a massive Rangers fan, I’ve had a front row seat to Lindgren’s career. He’s been a disaster this season. His demise has been evident over the last few years, but things really hit rock bottom in 24-25. He’s consistently guilty of poor judgement which translates to blown coverage and impossibly stupid penalties. And while he’s (rightly) built a reputation as a warrior, he’s also a increasingly brittle player who while not missing huge amounts of time on IR, finds himself hurt frequently and easily, largely due to his poor judgement. Is there a chance he finds better form playing on a better defensive team with better depth? Sure, anything’s possible, but it wasn’t going to happen on the Rangers, and he’s simply not worth a new contract. The Rangers being rid of him and willingly eating half his salary is addition by subtraction.

  14. "Doesn't usually declare winners and losers.."
    Also;
    Wears the jersey of the team to declare who he feels has won the trade.
    😄

  15. I’m sure there were lots of people saying Val nichuskin was washed when we got him. Look at home now… he’s our X factor guy. Most impactful player in and out stat wise. It’s silly but true. He makes all lines better and is an outstanding 2 way forward. And then look at Drouin. I hated him his first 30 games. But the team and he stuck with it. And now look at him. It’s amazing what the program can do to high end talent that’s fallen off. And we’re betting on it again. We’re on the right side age wise too. He’s barely 27. Have a little faith…
