As an Avs fan, I think you're overvaluing Parsinnen. I get he's 24, just not sure he'll ever produce at a level to make him a valuable player
When was the last time a top 5 team ended up with the #1 draft pick via a trade?
Rangers fan here. Lindgren was a warrior but he's got too many miles on him. Low risk pickup for Avs though as NYR ate half his salary. Lindy is all heart.
Love Vesey, another heart guy, he'll be good for Avs if they play him on L3/L4. Shame he got squeezed out in NY but he's a rental anyway.

I think Lindgren is finally feeling better after his jaw healed after having it broken in a preseason fight. Solid depth defenseman. He would be ideal as a 3rd pair D who can fill in on the Top 4 if there’s an injury. He’s great on the PK too. Also, not playing with Fox may actually improve his game. He seemed to be doing too much to compliment Fox’s game – too cautious to be offensive as a stay at home defender and too physical. I expect him to play better in CO than he has all year thus far.
This breaks a streak of always having a player called Ryan that had been running since 2005.
Yeah as a ragners fan, Ryan was also great, vessey needs more time to develop but we loved him. Hard to see those two go when we are pushing for a wild card spot this season

They aren’t just top wildcard. They just tied Minnesota. Yes min has a game in hand. I don’t think it will workout for them. And Colorado making that goalie change is insane. They’ve been the best tandem in the league. Blackwood has been probably one of the top 3 goalies in the league since the trade. His numbers are wild.
Parssinen might be the 3rd line center Rangers need since Chytil was traded. De Haan might be flipped for a pick
As an Avs fan, I really think this was an important trade. Not the most important, but important nonetheless. We needed a D man, and Lindgren is a good one. If he can avoid getting his ass kicked by Kadri again anytime soon, that would be a bonus.

The underlying factor is the dynamic in the avalanche club has revamped quite a few players careers, lindgren is +100 d man if he finds his stride again with the Avs that’s a dangerous player to add to a cup run
