  1. Isn't it time to take a real run at this thing? I mean if it doesn't work this year – which likely leads to Marner and Tavares not resigning – then you use the extra money to add to what you've acquired this year and retool on the fly, while still having a solid base to do so. This is the year with these guys. Time has run out on the core. Go for it!

  2. Our best prospects for an old guy who could be injured by the 2nd round NO Thanks. Leafs need Laughton and a 3rd line banger and a RD like Connor Murphy forget the Shenns

  3. Brayden Schenn is a 33 year old center making $6.5 million for three more years. The Blues are trying to get rid of his money in the same way they were trying to get rid of Torey Krug. So this is actually a salary dump for them so they are not looking to retain much money. Maybe a million or two. he has eight 20 goal season to his credit . He once got 70 points. A couple years ago he got 65 points. He scored 20 goals and had 46 points last year.
    No one wants Max Domi. He has zero trade value.
    The leafs have no CAP room. Have to get rid of 5-6 million in cap.

  4. Trade:
    @OrlandoHockey
    acquire G Jon Gillies from the
    @CincyCyclones
    in exchange for future considerations. From rumors Cincinnati Cyclone is looking to bring G timofei obvintsev from Europe

  5. Rantanen, and Both Schenn brothers are possible if you trade Domi Kampf Cowen Minten Danford and a few picks, including next years first and this years 2nd.

  6. Rantanen Matthews Marner
    Knies Tavares Willy
    Mcmann Schenn Robertson
    Lorentz Dewar Holmberg

    Reilly Schenn
    Tanev McCabe
    OEL Timmons/Benoit/Myers

    That's a playoff worthy lineup

  7. too much for a 3rd line centre,,,,,,he isnt young, and the contract is lenghty, i like the player, but this is "''nice chat,but no" scenario.

  8. Seth Jones at 3M retained is the big move to make. Dude would be a stud on a good team and can log 26 minutes per night. Either Schenn is a pure waste.

  9. Minnesota is one of the most aggressive pursuers, but there were others competing. We will see how things unfold from Elliotte Friedman

  10. Nashville and Minnesota are talking about a potential Gustav Nyquist trade, per sources, which is why he's being held out today. But the trade is still not done. Could be a complication. Let's see where it goes. From Pierre LeBurn

  11. History will not look favourably on any trade in which the Leafs trade young talent for a 1000 game veteran who gets paid $6 million. Schenn is having his lowest production year ever and the Leafs are going to take this guy on for the next several years? Big mistake

  12. Good this is depressing. KISS. Ryan O'Reilly is being shopped. He won the Stanley Cup with Schenn but also won the Conn Smythe. He is the same age, makes less, has a lower cap hit, 1 year less term and is slightly ahead of Schenn in pts this year. He was far ahead of him last year. All this while playing on the Preds. He did well for the Leafs last time and only left because of Keefe (I don't blame him). Now, since Nashville also has Luke Schenn, they could fill their two basic needs with a single deal and not have to include nearly as much going back and Nashville would be in a position to take some salary back. But lets chase fantasies instead, may as well make a run at Juan Soto.

  13. NO TO SCHENN!!! Hes about to be 34/35 years old very soon and injury prone. i hope the dont do this trade.
