prior to season start, i saw TBL as either a 3rd place or wildcard team. with a 1st or second round exit at best. and that's still how i see them right now. they could beat TOR, and FLA. they could just as easily lose to them as well. the depth is too lacking to hang deep with the elite teams. the offence is top heavy, and the bottom-6 forwards are close to useless with production. the defence depth is lacking, although with jj moser coming back should help a bit. tampa also lacks physicality. it was evident last year when they played FLA in the p-off's.
vasilevskiy has been playing good, but heaven forbid if he gets injured and misses time, tampa would be f*cked in net.
with around $5m in cap space, am intrigued to see what JBB does. i know he will be trying his best. but please, this time, no f*cking tanner jeannot deals where you're giving up a literal year's close to entire draft class. especially when you have no 1st rounder in the 2025 draft to use anyways.
of course i hope to be wrong on tampa and they go on a deep-off run.

I think Tampa could use some bottom 6 forward depth. I don’t see a problem shipping out a 2nd rounder or even packaging both and target Jake Evans or someone similar.
The underlying metrics tell you the the Lightning are are serious threat, in the East. Downplay them at your peril. Top 10 points. Top 10 PA. Top 10 PP/ Top 10 PK. Vasy is a top 3 GK. This team is BRUTAL
