  1. Pure goal scorers as Lekkerimaki has the potential to be is a precious commodity for the franchise; however, the Canucks need to get him on a strength training program as soon as possible as he will likely be knocked off the puck as easily as Petterson if not- thus limiting his overall ability to realize his full potential in the NHL.

  2. Absolutely entertaining hockey counts. The fact is though boring hockey also wins. Canucks are boring but don't win, if that makes sense

  3. The Los Angeles Kings are a prime example that a team CAN win without playing entertaining hockey. That being said the Canucks play boring hockey and don't win consistently

  4. One could argue. They play a clogged, low event style on the road. At home, they're trying to entertain.

Apparently, the personnel they have suit the clogged style. Just look at the records.

  5. It does not come down to just Petey and J.T. Have we forgotten the season started with poor goaltending , very poorly structured defense and injuries to key players? No doubt Petey's struggles are a major factor but this season has been challenging in every category , including management poor roster choices in the off season

  6. The problem is their style of play isn't entertaining nor effective!! Playoff teams and in particular Stanley Cup winning teams attack when they have the puck and when they trying to get the puck back – they control the play and put more pressure on their opponent to make plays than on themselves. The Canucks don't do this! With their style of play, it doesn't matter who's in the line-up. With everyone in a scoring slump, Patrick, it is NOT the players – it's the coaching style – system/structure! They are 30th in "shots for" in the league. Everyone assumes because Tocchet and Foote were good NHL players it translates into good head coaches – they're likely better suited to be assistant coaches. They're slow to adapt, they're too focused on structured hockey which has neutered their offense and has turned Elise Petterson into a third line centre, it exasperated the Miller issue because of the losing and they fail to realize that pressure, good two-way hockey wins cups!

  7. Everyone yelling that Tocc is the problem. The play style last year WORKED, the team this year has not (as a whole) bought in like they did last year
