as a fellow NYI fan i will say that many isles fans act like noah dobson is complete trash and has little value which is not true. however if there is a large package that could be fetched that can help solve the scoring issues we have been suffering through the past few years then i am not opposed to dealing him. the guys who have filled in on D have been great and all have potential in their own rights to replace him. I may rather the isles go the route of trading nelson rather than extending him, but if they traded JGP and/or Palmieri instead while trading Dobson then I wouldn't be mad either.
The adam boqvist grab isnt talked about enough, im a little baised because my team drafted him. But if they can get his potential out then they have a really good 2 way top 4 guy on their squad.

Hated this when I first heard it but I’m warming up to the idea, I was always very big on Dobson because of just how good he was offensively after we lost Toews and when Pulock took a step back. But then I think about our waiver claims and signings and tradings for ‘misfits’ and just how well they’ve gone. Mike Reilly last year and the 3 you mentioned this year.
Additionally, when I think of that Romanov extension you mentioned and understand it’s kind of Romy or Dobson, I’m taking Romanov. He is cheaper, plays pure islanders hockey (massive hits, solid defensively) and despite his offensive slump this season, he’s been on a steady rise in offensive capabilities.
And finally, I think about a guy like Isaiah George, he already looked better than Dobson defensively in his stint with the Islanders this year, and his offensive potential although less than Dobson is still extremely high. Dobson is a loss that this Islanders team can live without. We desperately need a fast sniper that can play alongside Barzal if we want any chance at playoff success.

Time to think about moving Barzal or Sorokin as well. Anyone young and has value. A massive massive rebuild maybe isn’t so bad. It’s not like my Isles would be relevant anyways. We are only spoken about for the 1/2 off Dobson and 1/3rd off Barzal. Why does my favorite team need to be the NHL laughing stock.

As an islanders fan, I think Lou needs to sell high now, teams playing good, but future is doubtful, get rid of pageau, Nelson, mayfield, palmieri, varlarmov. I’m on the fence about Dobson, I don’t want another Toews situation. Make the team younger, build the farm team, let the vets have a chance at the cup.

Long time Islanders fan. I loce Brock but prefer if he was traded. We need to get younger. One year deal maybe, but we need to get younger. Don't see him signing a one year deal.
Dobson is a tough one. Horrible defensively. Can he return to 70 points?? A good defensive partner? Is he not coachable? Don't mind them seeing if a trade is possible based on the return. Would prefer the Buffalo option mentioned over the Vancouver one unless Horvat wants Pettersson here 🙂

Canucks trade boeser and Soucy to islanders for Dobson.
Canucks move lekkermaki up to the big club(once healthy) to take either boesers spot or move someone else up into top 6.
Islanders can sign boeser to play with Horvat that for some reason isn’t brought up enough with their previous history and chem together. Soucy can slot in right away into a hurting d core and can either play out the last year of the deal next season or be a trade chip to get something for the islanders next season.

Do you think calgary would trade rasmus anderson to capitals for a center in hendrix lapiiere and a defenman in alexander alexeyev (a heathey scratech) both players would fit their timeline. as a caps fan im okay if they do nothing.(however, would love to see rasmus as a teammate for tom wilson lol). two former 1st rounders is this too high a price for washington? Rasmus Sandin could be a fit in a trade here as well. Does this even make sense to the capitals?

The reason Noah is on the block is because his last agent couldn't get a deal done with Lou ! That's why he fired him and got a new agent . The NY Islanders have handled Noah with kid gloves since they drafted him . Its time to take the gloves off !!!! Let's go Islanders!!!!
Isles fan here – would not be opposed to trade Dobson at all. Seems like the timing is right to try to go for a big trade, like Pettersson, or a package from Buffalo like you mentioned. Wouldn’t mind trading Nelson either, but would need a big (and cheap) scoring-option coming the other way..
