  1. I am gonna cope by saying the coaching decisions are a genius move to take advantage of our solid position in the regular season to fully get a handle of all issues before the trade deadline.

GLORY TO SUPREME COMMANDER KRIS KNOBLAUCH THE WISE ‼️‼️

  2. Bouchard , Skinner and even Nurse have been the kickbags for the anger towards the Oilers Losses. The only Player who made it worse was Kaspari Kapapan…. I’m fighting with not spellcheck Spell names wrong🥊 . #42 has to possibly go depending how he plays in the next few Games.

  3. Knoblauchs been doing this ALL year . They had like 30% roster turnover from last season , you don't find chemistry , you build it and the coach isn't allowing that to happen . Honestly , I've said a monkey could coach this talented team and Woodcroft didn't deserve to be fired . Seems like 4 wasted months of the season to not have even ONE set line this far in and now you don't even know what to do at the fast approaching deadline . . .

  4. 1) Bouchard has multiple points because he plays 5 on 4. Tyson Barrie played Bouchard's role well, but he was traded for Mattias Ekholm . As a defender, Bouchard was never consistent and had turn overs and gave away puck every game, but when the Oilers were outscoring their opponents, it wasn't as critical as it is today. Today, McDavid's efficiency has dropped dramatically, and this has affected all the players in the important trio ( McDi, Nuge and Hyman). Today, the Oilers are not outscoring their opponents, and every Bouchard's turn over or his laziness affects the Oilers' play more and becomes more noticeable. 2) Knob is too soft. He initially found success last year with his gentle approach to players, but as a coach he is at the AHL level at best. This is my opinion. Defenders I like : Jakob Chychrun and Jake Walman. Both were available for trade last year. Upgrade goaltender ASAP ! John Gibson, Karel Vejmelka are better than Skinner / Pickard Find a new coach if the Oilers don't make the conference finals.😇 Being a good guy is nice, but being a good guy is not an occupation.

  5. Maybe this group is fine. Everyone here is due for an offensive breakout from that building frustration. There is a reason why the Oilers were 3rd in the league in points, and that side of the team will come out soon enough and this bad play won't continue all season.

That being said though: Bowman, please don't be an idiot. In many conferences with him he talks about how he is not interested in a goalie, a goal scorer, but is more concerned with "a big defensemen"… NO. DONT DO THAT STAN!

  6. Knoblauch is not as animated and making funny faces like Tocchet but I’m getting January Canucks vibes from this team. Like there’s some bad blood on the team and he’s scrambling on lineups to not let the drama boil over.

  7. Make a blockbuster with St. Louis. Grab binnington and parayko and send Savoie, oreilly, 2 first round picks, arvidsson, Stu and kulak for the cap dump and work from that framework. Oilers are in win now mode and it’s obvious Bouchard isn’t (and shouldn’t go) but they need a RD who can defend. It’s the equivalent of Ekholm upgrading the LD a few years back. Outside of something like that the team is toast when it matters most.

  8. People are pissed off at Bouchard because he often doesn't pass the eye test. He turns the puck over in the most brutal ways, and it doesn't look like he's even trying out there half the time. When this happens, I think people say that he's mid and that his analytics are only good because he's paired with Ekholm. I don't entirely blame them.

  9. Perhaps they are reserving all their energy for Panthers. Sorry Mathew Tkchuk about your groin but We are coming for your team with vengeance ( I hope 🤞 fingers crossed 🤞 🙏)

  10. Bouchard needs to be benched. Zero repercussions for his many numerous gaffes every single game. Nurse's contract back to looking like complete insanity. Everyone thinks because sometimes skinner makes a big save that he's capable of being a starter – he's not. we all know this. ALL goalies make big saves time to time, but his movement is brutal. The guys can't seem to make a proper breakout whatsoever. Sloppy passing, poor positioning, and just a bad showing yet again.

  11. Your whole bit on emotion was perfectly said. Knoblauch needs to pull some crazy joker stuff. We need to get it together. Watching the whole team look so lethargic and dead is really frustrating.

Where’s John tortorella when you need him ? lol

  12. Wondering how many players have given up. Hyman and others are oilers version of ellias Petterson. Lots of players would love to play for the oilers. Time to fix this problem. Players please think of the fans here and they pay your wages. Connor is here Now, but he wants to will. Think about that. Good luck 😢

  13. Wow, that hour went by fast too much to have to talk about right now. I’m with you, Austin . I don’t like our chances against Florida. If this same team keeps showing up every night I don’t like our chances. For the rest of the season. Someone needs to step up and lead this team this back to where they can and should be. So Austin I think it all comes down to you infiltrating the oiler dressing, bro and being the teen spirit captain what do you say?

  14. Evan Bouchard has the 2nd best +/- on the team? did i hear that correctly? I'm pretty sure that every time he turns the puck over, the other team scores, lol.

  15. All Oilers need to take a deep breath, they will pull it together like they always do, this defence and goalies really need help tho! Last time they did this they went on a winning streak. Not liking Bowman I think he's as bad as Holland was. Kane, Bouchard another one for a consistent goalie.

  16. Knob is very inexperienced, can't manage crisis, can't tender to superstars, paints bad situations always positive, never takes responsibility, it's always the players that have some issues, but he is never doing anything wrong (like with Jeff Skinner, etc). For me he belongs replaced, asap, before the season is lost. I don't agree with Oilers who keep bringing the past. The past is no measure for how well or soon or IF they can recover from bad situations.

  17. Skinner's lateral movement was horrendous. Getting a wraparound while the skater is skating 5 meters behind your net, makes you as a goalie a 'spectator', completely absent goaldending! Both Skinner and Bouchard require psych help, they have 'blackouts'

  18. NONE, nada, unless hey wake up (Bouchard, Skinner, McDavid, Arvidsson, Kapanen, Hyman, etc.) + Knoblauch is replaced or he stops experimenting as if we were in pre-season, they are not getting past round 1 of playoffs, regardless which opponent.

  19. I can't watch a full game the giveaways drive me mad so I just watch the highlight reels, and really giving the puck away then just watching OMG!

  20. I can tell you what I WOULD be doing as a coach, one doesn't need to be a coach, just have common-sense. Did you listen to Maurice's interview about what he did after the cup? Talk to other coach specialists, get informed, analyze all your weak-points, create and give strategic improvement plans to your 'problem' players, etc. etc. What I believe or it appears that Knoblauch did, was relax, have a drink, spend some time with the family and… that's about it! I am not a trainer, but I would think: how can I improve McDavid's chances to not end up his 'porsche racing' in a wall of 2-3 defenders? Should I put in the middle a player that can pass and slow down the game and put McDavid in 'scene' on a path that is more free than the usual paths he takes (through the middle, 9 out of 10 times ending being blocked by 2-3 bunched defenders)? It is all a problem of geometry, logic, strategy. How can I integrate Jeff Skinner? How can I guide Stu to make less mistakes? How can I improve Stu's awareness of the puck on re-bounds? (etc, etc, and don't want to hear, I am not a goalie trainer, the head coach needs to make his own thoughts about all weak-points). Which lines should I focus on maintaining now into the playoffs. What top priorities should I discuss with Stan? The list goes on and on, and it doesn't look like he did his homework, at all. Knoblauch appears to me as a 'tesla self-driving trainer', he expects McDavid and Draisaitl and Co to 'go out there and do their job, figure it out', almost like a program-manager with no 'technical knowledge'. I don't think that Knoblauch is a good trainer.

  21. Exactly what you are saying, is common-sense: 'I am sure after the philly game, coaching-team will settle down, …' NONE of that happened. Coaching staff is REPEATING the same mistakes over and over, just as Bouch and Skinner repeat their mistakes over and over. That is the definition of insanity. And all Oilers who also blindly believe 'they'll turn around because that's what they always do', are falling in the same category of insane thinking. The past is no guarantee for future outcomes! They are as we speak, at least theoretically in 3rd spot (if Kings win their 2 games less), Canucks despite losing, they were DOMINATING Vegas in Vegas, Flames beat Carolina away, if they keep down-spiraling, and 'betting' on Skinner and Knob and Bouch, it is possible to even miss the playoffs entirely!

  22. The whole coaching team, including analytics, has to be released of duties. This business is in red. Hire for analytics a guy who understands math, logic, geometry, understands or has experience with any other team-sports and how to optimize playing schemes. Not a young 'IT guy' as it is the case with the Oilers! Young and Cool is not the solution to everything these days! Experience is invaluable, look at Maurice or Jon !

  23. Bouchard is NOT top 10. You are wrong. Is a driver that drives 'usually' great, but gets a ticket every week, and an accident every month (despite being a great driver judging by skills), a good driver? Absolutely NOT.

  24. With whomever you are trading for, a stable defender. Bouchard is the worst quarterback, giving away too many pucks. His production is very low this year, on PP too. You are not replacing him with current players, you are bringing new D man.

  25. Also wrong, 'the more you are on the ice, the more you give away'. Bouch gave away the puck to Tampa player in first 15 seconds, from a non-threatened position behind own back line, as if he wasn't even on the ice mentally!. Bouchard's brainf..rts are there, always.

  26. they lack emotion? And then you mention 'that guy'? How about the trainer, he is supposed to motivate the whole team!

  27. The Oilers may very well still be in a strong playoff position, but they sure haven’t been playing good hockey during any of their last four games, having lost all of them in regulation and having allowed at least four goals in each. Talk about ugly metrics, with neither Stu Skinner nor Cal Pickard having played particularly well, but where is the defense? Thrown under the bus.

  28. I want to see knoblauch yelling and showing them what emotions is. I don’t think we should trade Bouchard, but I do think he needs to take accountability hes not the “young kid” anymore

  29. Lets face it , if they do make it to the playoffs, traditionally they play the Kings 1st round and they have been on fire this season, I'm sorry to say i have no confidence in the oilers rn and I hope they can pull it together and play some real hockey.

  30. The goaltending is absolutely killing this team. I saw it in game 7. I’ve been seeing it all season. It is the biggest problem on this roster. Second is, the coaching. Something is seriously wrong behind the bench. Third, leaky defense and puck management. Fix these problems from the top down, it’s a contending team again. But time is rapidly running out. I’m not too concerned just yet, but if things don’t improve quickly, the hope is going to die out. A win against the panthers on their ice would be so inspiring for the team, and it is an ABSOLUTE must win.

  31. Stuart Skinner has started 39 games. 18 games above .910, 18 games below .899 and 3 games between .900 – .909. His record this season is 20-19. This isn’t starting quality goaltending. That said, I say keep starting Skinner and evaluate at TDL.

  32. I'm not saying it's the biggest problem overall, but I think one of the biggest problems with coaching this team has to be commanding authority over stars like McDavid and Draisitle. I don't know what the room is like at all, but it feels like even ownership and the GM have to bend over for McDavid, and it FEELS like they keep selecting pushover 'players coaches' to not piss off McDavid. I thought maybe the fact that Knobby coached McDavid as a kid might psychologically give him that authority, but I think the fact that McDavid was on the ice these past games with no break after the 4nations shows that he answers to nobody

  33. what about the rumor that bowman was paid off by vegas to wreck the oilers team? What about that? he sure ain't doing anything to help the team is he? and look how vegas cheated with the injured reserve thing, what about that? vegas is dirty. Any other team would have got a new goalie by now. Something is very wrong with the oilers.
