  1. Wings don't need a R D-man. Long term what they need is a tough defensive minded LD to play long term with Seider. ASP/Edvinson is the future 2nd pairing. Seider + that lefty on the top pairing with Johansson on the bottom pairing. Gotta clear out Petry, Holl and Chairot. Long term a partner for Seider is the play. What they really need is C2.

  2. even at half retained, Karlsson isn't even worth a 5 mil cap hit at this point. He'd have to be double retained which isn't happening.

  3. I been calling this for a few weeks now but I still believe Red Wings will aquire Seth Jones making Chi retain half his salary or something, jmo

  4. Pittsburgh would likely ask for ASP and other assets in a Karlsson trade. Thanks, but no thanks. Same for Hronek

  5. Yzerman values defensive skills and effort. He will absolutely not tie up $11.5 mil long-term for an offensive D of that age. It's a terrible contract. Hronek has only 2.5 years left on his deal and the $7.5 mil is not great, but not terrible. He's likely looking to improve the Wings defense. These two would improve their offense, while tying up significant cap money long-term.

  6. Seravalli smoking the same hooch from when he said Seth Jones was a top 10 defenseman in the NHL earlier this year. The Wings don't need an offensive defenseman with Edvinsson getting a bigger role and ASP coming up prob by 2026-27.

What we need is a center to replace Copp who we just lost. I would take Malkin 5 times over Karlsson, and Rakell 10 times over both lol.

  7. Karlsson Is Done, He priced himself out of the market, We absolutely cannot pay a guy with Make Believe Knees that much money
