This fight cured me.



The Canadiens came, they saw, and they conquered the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Saturday.

Brendan Gallagher, Cole Caufield, Patrik Laine, Josh Anderson, and Juraj Slafkovsky scored as Montreal returned from the 4 Nations Face-Off break with a commanding 5-2 win in the Nation’s Capital.

Six other players registered points for the Habs, including Nick Suzuki who contributed a multi-point effort.

Samuel Montembeault made 25 saves in his first start since winning gold with Team Canada on Thursday.

    Slafs said you have to play like Brady in the NHL and he definitely did….a goal and a fight win and it was his 2nd fight of his career and he was hitting everyone on the ice…totally impressed with him… Laine got in his slot and got one…the refs suck all this season….love that the players came over to congratulate Slafs for his fight

    In my opinion, if we end up being like between 2 or 4 points aways from the wild card spot at TDL the Habs will have their goal this season I don’t think they’ll make it to the playoffs but they’ll be able to fight for it for a couple more games before being officially eliminated and for me it’s a very good thing for a team that is only on their 3rd year of a rebuild

    The refs were quick with the whistle all night for Ottawa. Great game for the Habs and Slaf played great

    I think the break was really good for Hutson too. It looked like he was wearing down and getting run over a lot.

    You are much more philosophical about penalties they miss versus Ottawa. I was cured of fights a long time ago. I was watching the Good Friday Massacre back in 1984. It was brawl after brawl with borthers Mark and Dale Hunter at the center of it. Louis Sleigher caught Jean Hamel on the temple while he was being held by a ref and ended his career. He could have died. Really not interested in fights on ice ever since. Usually when I was at games after that, I'd take that opportunity to go for a beer.
    Great game. Tough for Ottawa.
    Montreal is 22nd. Only three points away from being 28th. Six points away from being 29th.
    Still not good. Would it be so bad to go on a three four game losing streak?

    Gotta give Greig some credit, dudes not that big but still dropped the gloves with slaf who has like half a foot or more on him.

    The Anderson penalty was legitimate, it was called on the wrong player and the wrong team. That is a textbook example of embellishment and the referee should take note that player took a dive…so next time perhaps he won't be fooled so easily.

    We have to trade Matheson. This guy is a defensive liability. Even after all these years he still makes bone headed decisions and mistakes. It’s never going to improve. Yes, he’s good offensively but we now have have Hudson for that.

    The refs blew ass…. they missed two high sticks on the canadiens which both drew blood I'm pretty sure? Yet most of the penalties called were weak if not just bad calls. Luckily it didn't really affect the outcome of the game
