I am sure Vancouver tossed shade on it. I am sure it's for multiple reasons. One being holding the US team back and the other needing him healthy for the rest of the season. Canada knows they were lucky. The US has gained major strides on Canada in youth hockey development. It's only a matter of time before the 🇺🇸 dominate hockey. Look how many American born players are now captains and are star players for Canadian teams. Think about it. Not too long ago Mike Modano was the rarity. This win for Canada was big for many reasons one it was political and two they are losing the grip of dominance they once had over the US in hockey. It is Canada's sport and they are losing ground anyone disputes that is not accepting what's been going on over the last decade or two. Not saying Canada isn't producing amazing talent. Just saying the gap is closed now. The fact is the US population is over 300 million to Canada's 40 million. The odds are stacked the US will produce more players with having a great development system now in place.
