Peter Windsor: Fans Booing Are Idiots!

In this interview @peterwindsor we discuss F1 75 Livery launch and whether F1 fans were out of line for booing Max Verstappen and Christian Horner. @peterwindsor explains why the proposed changes to the Monaco Grand Prix are not the solve that people are looking and why there might be more to McLaren’s flexi wing story than meets the eye.

  1. booing Christian Horner, well he comes over as a bit of a slug of a man, you know like that used car dealer who sold you that cut n shut, it looked all right but under all that shiny stuff ya know its rotten to the core, not saying he's a cheat as we cant prove anything, the old statement we can find no evidence…….. but we sort of know dont we

  2. He was booed because he's a cheat, a liar, a sexual predator and a racist enabler. He texted a young colleague that he wanked on a plane, he sent He pics of rubbing his nipples, and worst had.never acknowledged their luck of 2021 AD.

  3. HOW about, if you don’t wanna get booed, you don’t give the fans reasons to. We acting like there’s 0 reason to boo Horner, Max & FIA…

  4. Also would scrape the Monaco GP, it’s boring. Can’t overtake. Only reason it’s there is for rich people. Millionaires and billionaires. It’s not for the actual race fan. Bye bye bye Monaco. I never watch. Only Saturday q3 is worth watching.

  5. It's not the F1 fans, it's the British fans. And guess where this is all happened? In the O2 Arena. The British soil.

  6. Has Peter lost his mind? What the FIA are doing and have done in the past is extremely objectionable, Ben is becoming a ridiculous dictator. Horner should have been sacked, he would have been in most companies. Max drives like a moron sometimes and spoils the appreciation of his incredible ability. If you don't want booing improve your behaviour FIA, Horner and Max. What real fans wants a race at Monaco? Peter has lost it.

  7. True sports fans don't judge players or managers on who, or on there personal life. Even worse is there nationality? It doesn't happen in Football or most other World sports. British F1 fans where just as disrespectful to Schumacher back in the 90s. As Hamilton is now history!! Norris is the next driver to replace him with biased social media to stir up the so called British F1 fans.

  8. I disagree with the expectation that drivers should promote F1 in the off season. it's a combination of the increasing length of the season and number of races. My guess is the drivers already have a large amount of promotional commitments from teams and sponsors. They also need time to 'reset' in the off-season.

Don't forget they've introduced a mid season break and the team personnel are rotated.

Maybe, if the in-season media commitments were reduced it could free up some time – but then how are you going to explain that to the sponsors?

  9. I also don't agree with booing, but Horner's' treatment of other people, and by other people, I mean anyone that does not agree with him on anything is the cause. The wheel turns and if you can dish it out, you must be able to take it as well.

  10. Im finding myself disagreeing with P W quite a bit these days. Booing is as mucba part of the sport as cheering. You cant have one without the other. And if you are the recipients of funds that is made available through public spending thene surely you are fair game for anyone raising their opinions through cheers or jeers. I never took PW for a snowflake. Very disappointed.

  11. It's because he/them, red bull are CHEATS and nothing to look upto. . .
You lot CLEARLY condone cheating and glorify it. . . . y'all are ABSOLUTELY deluded if you still don't know why, clueless!

  12. Dude, people have opinions and they don’t like Horner for his actions and not do they like Max for his actions.

Ever been to a football match? Because you might be surprised how much booing will go on.

It’s the nature of the beast.

  13. Who is polarising? It’s not a matter of your fairly considered opinion – which I agree with. But F1 has changed and the FIA have cheated Lewis and will allow other crap like Max Verstappen do mad stuff. It’s gonna get worse.

I stopped football watching because of this. I cannot stand watching football anymore and now F1 is getting close to the fans ruining it with hate.

  14. He has cheated and harassed women and made fun of other drivers. Been unprofessional and a joke. Dear sir I think u are talking out your ….

  15. Windsor 07:29: booing is idiocy and rude !!!

IT FELT VERY NICE , TO READ HORNER/VERSTAPPEN FAMILY RESPONSE ,

    THEY DESERVERD IT

people in UK , booing Christian (who Briton)

So this destroy the verstappen family statement about (brits biased media and fans)

They booed the corruption , the fraud of the circus F1 , and indirectly they booed Windsor cause he is inconsistent in his statement , (WE DONT FORGET THE WHOLE 2021)

  16. These people who pay to go and hate on others are next level bums. Like cool you don’t like some team but bruh this isn’t even a race. Yall are at this promo event and acting like clown haters what kind of sad ass life is that. Disrespect and pathetic behavior.

  17. Shouldn't of been held in the UK where you several British drivers that have had conflicts with others. Plus you can't talk Peter, you made snarky comments about my google name when I asked you a question once on your podcast, so your far from perfect

  18. all this polarization has only one culprit. Skyf1. They couldnt handle to see a young Max destroy their master idol, so they went on a hate spree. They're the only ones to blame.

  19. Peter Windsor, if Lewis Hamilton wasn't cheated out of his 2021 championship may be the booeing wouldn't have occured. How can you tell adults how to behave, when the F1 governing body is acting like idiots. F1 should have backed johnny herbert., not let him go, Max just has to say i don't like him ,and that person has lost his job. They deserve all the booeing they get.

  20. The Next Time the Formule-1 show should held in the Ziggo dome AMSTERDAM or Ahoy in ROTTERDAM with Dutch DJ’s and Artist of the world because that’s better for the show, or should held in Italy and not in the United Kingdom, the land of Hooligans pigs

  21. Unfortunately Horner in particular courts this kind of controversy so he can hardly complain when it comes back to bite him. Some of it is warranted, some not. But this is not a new thing. Ayrton Senna and McLaren were particularly disliked in Britain and Italy in the late 80s/early90s and I seem to remember Senna being booed by the fans after retiring at Monza 1989.

  22. Come on! People are acting like they got pelted at with raw eggs when it was just a vocal crowd reaction! Every public figure gets booed at when they screw up, its not new. They're not the first to be on the receiving side of fan disapprovals and it's time people move on from being too sentimental about it.

  23. For the record mr windsor, christian horner is a man who sexually harassed and employee who repeatedly asked him to stop and told him it was inappropriate. Despite the messages being leaked, "Red Bull" investigated and found nothing wrong and he still smarms about the paddock. He has repeatedly made derogatory comments to others in the paddock, and riled up hatred towards Lewis by making inflammatory comments, not to mention him smiling whenever Max takes out another driver and telling everyone he never does anything wrong, I could go on and on and on, I'm glad he was booed

  24. I don't agree with PW that booing only emphasizes the negative and tarnishes the positive. Sargeant or Stroll do not get boos, only successful people get it. I do agree it's disgraceful and no one should behave like that. They would not boo people 1 on 1 to their face. It's being anonymous, perhaps getting alcohol as well and being in a group that people start this idiotic behavior. There are teams and drivers I don't like, but I'll still respect the job they are doing and never boo.

  25. I never knew booing was frowned upon in Europe until I got into F1. In America its part of sports culture.

  26. We the Dutch are tolerant. We accept everyone… Take Russell for instance. Everybody can see he's a homosexual who doesn't have any respect towards Max. Has he ever been booed when he was in Holland? No because we respect everybody, even when you are a Brit or as low as a childmolestor. Respect that's what it is all about.

  27. I would additionally argue that booing makes fan culture as a whole worse, because it ultimately increases hostility not just towards the drivers, but also between fans making it harder to communicate between fans of different drivers or teams and enjoy the sport together, which in my opinion is a pity. One thing I really enjoy about F1 when compared to other sports is that for a lot of people that I have spoken to, even if they are rooting for a specific team or driver, there is a lot of respect for race craft as a whole: I can be a Ferrari fan and still admire the overtake that Oscar pulled on Charles in Baku, because it was just that good. I think that bipartisanship is a great strength of the sport and with the increasing hate towards certain drivers or teams we stand to loose that.

  28. Guess what it’s a human reaction normal for people who don’t think they are the arbitrators of all good and holy. You sir are that so you should be ignored! Oh and such a great F1 team you constructed….
