As a Canucks fan McDavid is a constant thorn in our side… but I could not be more happy for him. Made his country proud and got his Crosby moment. You can tell there was a split second there where he couldn't believe his eyes that it went in. Can't even imagine the feeling of burying that goal. What a beauty.
How about that play from Marner though? The way he took the pass around the boards off of his skate instead of his stick, he kept his back to the boards so that he could see exactly where McD was, puck deflected off his skate right out onto his stick and bam– straight to McDavid. Had he done anything differently Matthews would have had that extra second or two to block the pass.
