  1. I hope Holmberg becomes awesome. I can't pretend I wouldn't sacrifice any current Leaf for a Cup but I also can't pretend that it wouldn't make me so happy if they did the thing without having to trade anyone away. It's just a better story.

  2. That second Chicago goal wasn't very Maximum Domi. But it happens. 🙂 Good win and that's all that matters.

  3. Pontus Holmberg has been in and out of the Leafs lineup for 3 seasons now, and I have more memories of him being underwhelming than I do moments of glory. He is useful, but not worth moving heaven and earth to keep. I really can't see Holmberg being a key contributor in every game of a multi-round playoff push.

  4. Just me or did they use to have or at least show waaaay more camera angles when weird things happened back in the day? Now its like they withhold them just incase they make the wrong call, so we won't know?. Like the camera inside the net I feel used to get used a lot more. Now you'll have a goal maybe cross the line and they're showing it to us from the Blueline.. Or that "not a high stick" goal Matthew Knies, who's 6'3 or something, hit around his head not.. that long ago.. they showed 2 angles of that didn't help at all? Huh..

  5. Hopefully Roberstson is trying to increase his stock for a trade 😅
I like the player but the last thing the team needs is another small fast winger, that time thankfully is mostly past.

  6. Think of that offside as a dump in. The puck entered the zone and before Tavares touches the puck in the Ozone Nylander cleared the zone. I don’t think they could 100% tell if the puck hit his stick so the call on the ice stands. That’s my interpretation of the “offside” review.

  7. Goaltending if it stays healthy is finally something we dont worry about, but even more is something we actually COUNT on to come through. This is such a bizarre feeling as a Leaf fan

  8. wait, the Leafs won both games in a back to back with one of them being against the Blackhawks and the other being against the Hurricanes in the anniversary of the Zamboni Game? What is going on?

  9. Matthews looks pist, he’s been sulking like a toddler since coming back from the four nations, he looks depressed, so does Domi, looks like they need a therapist.

  10. in Landon Slaggert’s defence, it’s his first year (technically second since he played like 3-4 games last year) in the nhl and he has looked like one of chicagos best players.

  11. Holmberg is one of those players who are always around the net, but frustrate you with their lack of finish. They should score more than they do.

  12. Just wanted to say Steve, thank you so so much for the change youve made the last couple videos where the video title doesnt actually say the result or the score! I love your videos and would neve want to unsubscribe from you but as an expat stuck living in the UK I often watch the games the day after (as in GMT most games face off at about 1 or 2 am for me and whilst in my youth Id stay up till 4 am to watch the hckey and be fine the nec tmorning those days are long gone sadly :P) and try to avoid seeing the scores etc before hand and on so many occasions Ive seen a thumbnail for one of your vids pop up in youtube down the side while watching somethign else and accidentaly spoil it for me so THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! PLEASE KEEP THIS GOING FORWARD 😀

  13. It's funny. Just a few hours earlier I was watching the Penguins game and complained that dumping the puck in when you have teammates who are offside should automatically be called offside and then this extremely weird granular call was made.
Even as a Leafs fan I think that should have been offside.

  14. Did anyone clip that clip of Nylander going “I swear that was off-“ and then cutting himself off bc I think he saw he was on camera 😂 it was on the espn broadcast I think and it cracked me up

  15. Honestly i think tavares black tape reeeeaaalllly helped the review with it being called a goal on the ice. Couldn’t find a a good enough angle to overturn

  16. So if that was a good goal because Tavares DIDN'T possess the puck, wouldn't it basically be the same as a dump-in with a player offside? Which wouod be… Offside?

  17. The most impressive thing was the leafs actually beat a team at the bottom of the standings. Usually they mail it in for those games. It drives me crazy 🤪

  18. To be fair. Mike Johnson was all over the review and was explaining why it was taking so long and they were trying to get the replays to see when JT actually touched it. So if you were watching TSN you knew why it was taking so long. MJ is the best.

  19. Rumor (even if I am starting it) trade of Edmonton Oiler Connor Brown 7G 15A 22 pts +7 (Ontario boy) to Toronto for Pontus Holmberg 5G 7 A 12 pts -1. So the #7 pts Oiler for the# 15 Maple Leaf. What do you think?

  20. Please god don't start the lets keep holmberg in the lineup train. He got 2 empty net goals and one nylander generously spoonfed him. I don't think he needs to be traded but either send him down or 4th line him on the wing.

  21. It was called onside because it's not just about puck possession. You actually have to touch your stick on the puck before they can call offside. Tavares took his stick off the puck before it crossed the blueline. By the time he touched it again, Nylander's skate was on the blueline.

  22. Chicagos 2nd goal wasn’t so much on domi as it is rielly. Why is rielly up at the blue line making domi cover. All started as a bad pressure from rielly

  23. Did he (JT) touch the puck when it was pass the blueline before the other player (willy) that was deemed offside , tagged up. If the answer is no, it's onside. It's really not confusing to me.

  24. Honestly, I’m a Hawks fan and I think that should have been a good goal. Sure, Nylander was in the zone early, but he tagged up before touching the puck so he followed the spirit of the rule. It wasn’t an unfair advantage for the Leafs, so it should be fine

Now, about the Cube Rule of Food…

  25. Am I the only one who doesn't find that offside rule to be that confusing? It's like how if there's a high stick or a glove pass and the teams don't want to touch it, the play continues until the person actually touches the puck that is inches away from them.

  26. I have to agree. Off side is off side ! Possession or not. If you are in before the “puck” you are off side !

  27. Mike Johnson sorta kinda understood why the officials called it a goal, but they didn't snow the nuance to the crowd. Thus the indignant booooooos

  28. I was sitting on that Blue line, and could not fathom why that wasn’t offsides! Hope you enjoyed a good rendition of the Canadian anthem. I personally didn’t hear any boos in my section, so hopefully that was the case around the entire stadium.
