  1. Matthews played pretty well in terms of a 200 foot game though. On a team this good, you don't necessarily need him to be scoring all the time. Now, that being said, more production from him definitely could have helped.

  2. It was 100% Matthews, this is ridiculous. Fox is right there heading to Marner. No one but the Toronto Delulu is trying to put Matthews as 3rd in line of responsibility. Auston reacted to early, left his guy unnecessarily.

  3. I refuse to believe Austin likes mitch at all. Nylander is Austin’s buddy and I think it was kinda clear last year at the all star team draft and Austin totally just skips Mitch for nylander. Every video I’ve seen of Austin he’s acting like an asshole to Marner or behind his back.

  4. Marner intentional assists.
Matthews chokes the wrap around and the blind call it an intentional assist.
There is a difference to those that pay attention.

  5. Why is everyone on Mathews. Fox was clearly beat and the closest person to Marner was Mathews. Why couldn't Fox seeing Mathews jump up take Mcdavid? both Fox and Mathews were about the same distance from Mcdavid.

  6. OK so, as an l oilers fan all I've ever heard from Leafs fans is that Matthews is the greatest scorer in the league, should be regarded as good as McD and he's an elite 2 way player.

This tournament he scores NO goals, and was responsible for leaving McD wiiiiiide open in front of the net where he scored his 3rd goal of the tourney – to win it all.

Make it make sense in any other way than he's just (unfortunately) been WAY overrated by far too many people this entire time.

  7. Very homer take to say Matthew was in the conversation as USAs best forward in the tourney. Not to say he wasn't good but both tkachuk brothers, eichel, Larkin, guentzal. It's pretty obvious

  8. Steve is such a Leaf foaming loser. He just spends 99% of his time on air screaming and yelling instead of providing reasonable opinions.

  9. The US goalie was so strange in position imho. It almost felt like it was given to them on a golden plater.

Which is not the case but it felt so unlike the Jets goalie. The way the dman completely backs away also just threw me off… just felt wrong.

  10. When the puck bounced back to the point, Macar and Marner and McDavid saw this goal. Pass pass shoot. 2 seconds. Matthews made a terrible decision. He should never be a captain anywhere. He fails to lead. He isn’t clutch.

  11. Hockey is played by mere mortals not make believe super heroes. Mistakes, injuries, and bad bounces are all part of the game. These happen at all levels of all sports. The first mistake of any game is the drop of the puck, the toss of the ball in the air, or the missed tackles on the opening kick-off. The final score of any game is a combination of all the combined mistakes played at the highest level of the sport by the best players. Only one athlete will score the winning goal or catch the winning touchdown, but all players will have contributed to the final result. The result I’d any competition is someone wins and all others lose. This time it is Canada, but someday it will be somebody else. Hopefully not in my life-time, but it is inevitable. Winning requires only this one thing…make one less mistake than the other team. Well done armchair coffee drinkers.

  12. no I dont think it was Matthews fault at all. It USA Hockey that still thinks the 1980 Lake Placid role players and grinders wins. Too many better skilled players were left off the roster or scratched.

  13. Canada acting like we didn't lose game one, and Binnington didn't save our ass in OT, only closely winning the last game😅

  14. If it comes down to one ot goal. I wouldn’t be so proud of their series performance.
