when ned is bad he is BAD ! this team is not talented enough to make up for letang,karlson , and now dejarnais nightly screw-ups ! face it fans this is not a playoff team even if all the teams above them in the standings shit the bed , which they wont ! put a fork in them they are done !
It's not a Sullivan problem it's a problem of not enough young hungry talent, this is not a playoff roster and it's the veterans making all of these mistakes, start weeding them out and play the young talent in the system, nothing to lose by doing it.
Let's just get this out of the way. The Joel experiment is over. He hasn't played a solid game since October. Larsson has waited long enough. Murashov has played exceptional for both farm teams. Give them a look. The defense in its entirety was horrific. Puck watching and not clearing the net. No effort. No physicality. Were soft. And when were heavy on the offense we can't hold up either. Karl was woeful and Tanger kept getting out of position. This will be the same start as the beginning of the season.

This is a flashback to the first few months of the season, epic breakdowns on defense, spotty goaltending, oddman rushes….with only a 30 minute solid effort, 8-3, come on. This is what is put forth when they are playing for their life? Karlsson and Letang were bad, real bad! I find sometimes when Letang gets a goal he loses his mind and goes full out on offense and forgets his position, put him on the wing with Sid because he doesn't play defense……..he's not a good defenseman. We heard how the games were so important prior to the break, now these next two are, how much longer do we watch this franchise circle the drain……before something is done? Same mistakes, same plays, same lineup……..gotta be hard to play against, gotta play the right way, attention to details, at what point is Sullivan on the hook? The only reason for any Penguin success this year is the power play, he has nothing to do with that, last season was a bloody mess & no playoffs, the year prior he couldn't get the boys engaged to beat Chicago or Columbus to insure a playoff spot and miss them, losing to Montreal in the bubble, losing 3-1 series leads in the playoffs, no playoff series wins since losing to Washington in 2018……….is this not a business, is success not based on results? I think back to the Oilers prior to the McDavid/Drasaitl era, horrible record but they were exciting, they were fast, but losing one goal games, but this squad can't even offer this. The Penguins are getting the doors blown off every 4-5 games, but then show they can beat and actually outplay teams so what is the problem? I have never seen a team so manic, highs and lows, major breakdowns, and they are so cap tight yet have little talent on the ice. Sullivan preaches structure and defense, and yet Karlsson and Letang, a combined 16-17 million a year can do what they do. I was excited for yesterday's game, how many more Crosby versus Ovis do we get……..after the 4-2 score I got up and the game became background noise as I did my taxes, yes I rather of done by books than watch another four goals go in. Shame on management for what they have done or haven't done, for coming up with all the excuses for this season even though this routine started 5-6 years ago. Shame on them for not giving Sid an opportunity to play for anything, and shame on them for keeping a coach who's results don't equal success…….since 2018.
I never bought that Karlsson wanted to be here. He plays with such a lackadaisical attitude like he just doesn’t want to be here. Get what you can for him and move on. Besides, the defense just can not afford two Kris Letangs back there.

Most of the issues here are not strategic but in execution. We dont have the horses. This is a horribly constructed team

I cant believe that this guy still thinks the Pens have a chance at the playoffs if they beat the Rangers.😂
