Really nice game by the Leafs. Some freaky bounces near the end had me nervous as the score closed in – felt for Stolarz. Glad they cinched it up with a pair of EN goals.
Matthews is hurting the poor guy. He looked miserable after that empty net goal. I hope he's okay

Leafs were second best for the last two periods, but Carolina got a couple of crazy bounces on their last two goals.
11:50 Look at all the empty seats in a 1-goal game. The leafs really need to do something about making tickets more accessible for actual fans instead of a bunch of suits filling the first 15 rows. They should put premium seating with all the platinum perks higher up or something. Toronto is such a boring crowd for a team with a huge, passionate fanbase.

Joe Bowen's exciting play calling takes me back to a time when ambidextrous players came dipsy-doodling in over the line, made patented moves and sent cannonading/scintillating drives toward the net with the puck sometimes finding itself caught up in the goalie's paraphernalia.

This game is the 5th anniversary of the Zamboni driver EBUG. Carolina won 6-3.
You could tell most of the game the energy Mathews and Marner brought home for the boys. Sad the big guy lost the shutout but thats fluke goals for then the empty netters saved them really. GG Great to have ya back Jelly and the magical announcers 'right between the lookers" LMAO

The Leafs are an embarrassment, the fan base (worst in the league already) goes woke during the U.S. National Anthem and gives Matthews applause after his deamening comments towards Canada. Conn Smythe turned over in his grave last night … knowing Montreal fans stood up for Canada and Leaf fans quietly sat in their $250 jerseys. The only NHL rink where opposing teams have to walk because the supposedly world class city can't remove snow nor manage traffic ?
A cpl really unlucky bounces late against the Leafs leading to goals but got the win and the 2 points regardless.
I can predict the future anytime the Leafs have the lead (even a 4-0 lead) after 2 periods that they will certainly tank in the third and last night's game is no difference. It looked like they completely threw in the towel and skated through mud. The Canes were skating circles around them literally and seemingly had a 5 on 5 powerplay the ENTIRE 20 minutes. What an absolute joke!!
