  1. Nashville is one of those few teams that historically are good but not great. Regularly in the playoffs but rarely a true contender

  2. Thanks for the video! Great info, details, and insights! They CRUSHED the Blackhawks that one year in the first round of the playoffs. C+ seems fair if not B- for the Cup appearance. They've only been around since 98 so maybe not having a Cup yet isn't too bad, given 32 teams.

  3. Nashville has been known for defense, but yet they can not beat their boogeyman in the playoffs known as the Sharks. Plus, they haven't won in the tank in their playoff history.

  4. Shannon, love your assessment on Nashville (as a Preds fan), and I can't argue with the grade. Trotz has locked us in with 3 long term contracts, and in all honesty we need a top flight center or play maker and the depth down the middle is not great (if he wants to get something out of Stamkos and Marchy–he's honestly got to figure out a way to get a center or two—drafting one for sure needs to happen especially if we are in the Top 3). I think he just overestimated how good the talent was on this roster with the 18 game point streak from last year…on top of that I love the fact you illustrated one of the big issues with the franchise. David Poile had some great acquisitions…and some bad ones…but in total when Barry made the change to Andrew Brunette and the offensive style it went a way from what the franchise did so well…defense. We aren't so great at that either but for years this team has picked in the mid to low end of the first round (where of course you have to be on point with drafting). The last time we had picked in the top 5 was Seth Jones at #4 in 2013. The franchise has never had a tear it down to the studs rebuild…and it's definitely a choice that was made by Trotz. Ironically, we now probably have great odds to get a Top #3 pick…which we sorely need!

  5. They should move their AHL team to Memphis. Much closer for call ups and it cultivate a stronger secondary fan base

  6. They're the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NHL: elite defense, average at best offense, never a serious contender to win but never bad enough to bottom out and draft high.
