  1. 1. The goal light went off. They are an official. 2. the on ice referee signaled goal. What are the Wild supposed to do? Referees do not blow the whistle on goals.

  2. I've read from multiple sources that in the NHL, referees are actually required to blow the whistle and point to the net with the opposite hand when they perceive that a goal has been scored… So no controversy. Just a simple case of the opposing team deciding to take a nap before official play was stopped.

  3. Goal horns should not be allowed to play before the ref signals a goal! Home ice advantage?
