If Barrie had developed even a moderately better defensive game, he would have been an easy top-6 mainstay somewhere.
I am interested in seeing if Marchenko's production keeps up with the fish bowl on/extra caution with his jaw. He has been really good for Columbus, in the few Blue Jackets games I've seen!

Shannon I love your channel but how can you have two news of the day videos and not mention Mike Lange’s passing. He’s not some fly by night play by play guy, he was the heart & soul of the Penguins for about 50 years. Plus he’s been on ESPN & did some Pirates games as well. Heck he even starred in the Van Damme movie “Sudden Death”.

Eberle is also with SEA in FL after having a conditioning stint with the Firebirds over the break (no games played) and being recalled by the Kraken. Isn’t off IR yet, so not sure he’ll play on the road trip, but he’s been practising with the team for a while now in a regular jersey.

It would be incredible news for the Jackets if Marchy comes back earlier than expected, but at the same time, I don't want them to rush him back onto the ice for a playoff push's sake. I don't think anyone on the 5th Line would be disappointed if they missed the playoffs this year, given the low expectations going into the season that have been blown completely out of the water and the amazing potential that's just over the horizon.
Would love to see Barrie take a team friendly deal and come back to Edmonton.
We'll see some players who had a chance to get healthier that didn't go to 4 Nations, but a bunch of players will also be playing hurt or going on the IR because they went to 4 Nations. The detail on that Team Sweden jersey is super cool.

A thought for the 4 Nations series—what if the next gap between the Olympics and the World Cup (or whatever the NHL is calling it) is a “play-in round” for the next 4-Nations series? The top three teams in the 4-Nations series return for the next 4-Nations tournament, and the fourth place team is “relegated” to the qualifying series in two years’ time?

The idea that Landescog is going to return in any capacity more than 4th line, 7 minutes a night player is getting more and more remote…and it started out as remote when he had the surgery. I happened to be recovering from tendon surgery when Landy had the second surgery, and I chatted about it with my surgeon during a follow-up visit. He was pretty pessimistic, and here we are.
Landy deserves a ton of credit for giving it a real try. And for his contribution to the Avs and their Cup.
