The Hockey Guy more like The Hockey God
Davis Payne!! That's a throwback. He won the Kelly Cup in 2006 as the coach of my hometown Alaska Aces! I forgot he coached the Blues briefly.
Blues need to go get themselves a legit superstar. I don’t care if they have to throw as much money as possible at Rantanen in the offseason or what. They need to trade a bigger contract (preferably Buchnevich) and go get someone. Their attempt at winning through a pack mentality is not working with their current players. They have a lot of really good players, but no truly elite ones other than maybe Thomas and Parayko. I feel with a true goal scorer on the top line that Thomas could be a 90-100 point player.
In the name of the father, the son, and the holy hockey guy we trust
LGB!
The Blues were always a consistently strong team during the regular season and rarely missed the play offs, but in the play offs they rarely had deep runs, which makes the 2019 win quite unexpected
They won a Cup. It's made all the damn suffering worth it.
Edit: Armstrong is stepping down in a few years and Alex Steen is taking over the GM role as well.

Have they found Hull since the celebration? I heard he is still MIA.
Hullie is the heart of the Blues!
Anyone know what professional sports team has made it the most consecutively into the postseason without winning the championship?
I heard somewhere that it was the Blues.
5:00 trust me, as a Blues fan thats all we hear when they suck lol
Ah the Mike Kitchen era. Dark, dark days. To be fair, not his fault. He had nothing to work with, the owners gutted the team in an effort to sell it. That being said, when the Blues have a crap game I lovingly refer to it as a Mike Kitchen Throwback Night.
Props!
How about vids on classic radio/tv announcers, such as Dan and John Kelly?

As a blackhawk fan it was a feel good moment when the Blues won a cup…way back in the day watching them and the hawks fight once in a while a hockey game would sneak up you..
Love you man, but did you seriously say Kyrou could be the future captain? No way imo
I’ve always liked the Blues, since the moment they appeared on the scene in 1967-1968. They were in the Stanley Cup Final in their first 3 years of existence, even though this was an artificial situation created by the need for a Western Division team in the Finals. I guess they were the best of the worst (no sweetheart drafts for expansion teams in those days!). They had (and still have) a great logo, they had Jacques Plante, my fave goalie all-time…. Though I’m a hardcore Habs and Jets fan, I’d like to see St. Louis win some more Cups in my lifetime.
Binnington did get robbed of the Conn Smythe.
Neighbors is the next captain. He has the mentality we like. Hard worker, plays hard on the boards, and will throw down to protect his teammates.
Steen is taking over for Armstrong in the next couple seasons.
Binnington deserved the Conn Smythe trophy in 2019. I know O'Riley deserved it too as his playoffs was amazing (especially compared to his regular season), but damn. The Blues flat out do not win the cup if Binnington isn't on that team. He SHUT DOWN Boston in game 7. That game could have gotten ugly very quickly with how well the Bruins were swarming.
In 2016, Vladimir Tarasenko was featured in nhl 17 cover
for GMs I believe there is an agreement in place that Armstrong will step down soon and Steen will take it. 2026 I think?
Armstrong announced he would retire and Alexander Steen is already being trained to take over in 2026. I hope this plan plays out better than the "Hitchcock trains Yeo" plan did.
He's young, but I wouldn't mind Neighbours getting the C next. I'm always impressed with how he carries himself as a young guy. Well-spoken, well-liked in the room. Will fight anybody. Kid is a gamer and seems to really take pride in being a Blue. Him living with Schenn his first year did wonders for him i think. Maybe no better veteran league wide to show a kid like Neighbours the way. He went and molded us a Schenn 2.0
I would LOVE more on individual players. Who is looking at a new contract (Marner). Performance of mathews willy hughes brothers even the little hughes who is bigger than the big hughes. Contracts if living up to them like Crosby old by hockey standards yet still OUT OF CONTROL. Your good at this I'm sure you can put something together. How this year's batch of rookies are doing
I have been a Blues fan since 1974.
Over the years there has been a lot of ups and downs along the way.
2019 made up for all of those in one year.
I think the "re-tool" is underway and probably headed in the right direction.
Thanks you for your 25 year overview on the Blues THG !
You should do a video on Dubois
Let's go blues!
Armstrong needed to be gone when he let petro go and signed krug
Right now our defense with 3 guys. Krug, Leddy, Faulk. Armstrong chose these 3 over, petro, Dunn, Walman
We have no picks basically this year and no 2nds through 2027….
His time is done in my eyes
I am really surprised but kinda happy that Berglund made that top 10 scorers list.
Tbh the only reason bannister was closer to playoffs than Montgomery is because last year Binnington and Hofer were world-beaters, whereas this season they’ve been very average
Thanks for the video! Great info, details, and insights! They have a Cup. That's always the biggest deal, IMO. They don't seem to have completely righted the ship with Monty, which I thought would solve their woes this year. Binnington has been hot and cold but we'll see how he performs tonight in the 4 Nations, which will set the stage for the final push. They seem to have a good enough team to compete post-season, though not a huge number of high scorers, so it all comes down to what happens between the pipes.
2019 makes everything ok even with the dumpster fire taking place now
Impressive that robert thomas manages to perform with matchbox 20 in the off season
