The anomaly of what happened in Vegas combined with the Kraken making the playoffs in year 2 have given some Kraken fans unrealistic expectations of where the team should be at this point, so I'm really glad that you touched on those aspects of our team's short history.
Ugh. I was afraid this was coming. So Eberle signed a 2 year extension back in November or something and has been MIA ever since. Grubauer signed a 6mill per year and immediately fell off a cliff. If Beniers and Stephenson don't show massive improvement over the next 2 months their contracts are starting to look like bad moves. I don't think you can find anyone who thinks Francis is going to be around after this season. Certainly not any Kraken fans or independent media.
So is a teardown and rebuild coming? I think its too early in Franchise development to do a rebuild because it could mean hemorrhaging fans in a somewhat fragile base. Fans here are fickle and the sonics are gonna be back in a year and a half. I think a rebuild is a bad idea but Francis doesn't have a plan, obviously.

Thank you for taking a look at the Kraken. I do wonder if the team will go after a star talent in the draft or if they'll prefer to chase depth across all positions, but ultimately I just wish for the team to get a cup by year 10-12 if that can even happen.
