How Charlie McAvoy’s injury impacts Team USA and the Bruins
Charlie McAvoy suffered an injury (and allegedly an infection) while playing for Team USA at 4 Nations and now we’re left to wonder how it will impact the Americans in the final vs. Canada, as well as the outlook of the Boston Bruins leading up to this NHL season’s trade deadline.

Yeah, he won't be back any time soon, which is not so great for the Broons. I hope I'm wrong, but at any rate, get better soon, Charlie.
It may be the opposite of the conspiracy you imagine. It may be that they're having Sweeney & the Bruins announce the injury so that there's clear agreement between the USA and Canada camps about the need for a replacement (i.e. Quinn Hughes). Otherwise, conspiracy theorists may say that they're exaggerating a nagging McAvoy injury to get Hughes into the tournament now that he's good to go.
Hughes is still not confirmed by the way.
He would play if he could. It’s gotta be significant. Hughes can’t play per tournament rules unless a US defenseman goes down during the the championship game.
CHARLIE MACAVOY ABSOLUTELY BODIED CANADA.
