PFR Highlights: C/LW Kent Johnson (2021 NHL Draft)

A flashy offensive winger with a high IQ and an assortment of ways to posterize the most competent of defenders, University of Michigan winger Kent Johnson (#13) was second among NCAA freshman scorers with 27 points (9 goals, 18 assists) in 26 games.

  1. I like Johnsons skating and ice awareness compared to MacTavish. Johnson keeps skating and trying to exploit space.
He would be a great idea for Detroit's 6th pick (probably 7th overall)

  2. The issue I have with Johnson is he relies too much on his skill to get him through rather than his brain. Tremendous skill, but he won't get away with half the stuff in the NHL he does in College. If he can blend the two, no reason why he can't be very successful as a 2LW

  3. I like Beniers better but Michigan could have 3 go in the top 10. I would be happy with any of them in Detroit. Beniers would be a great pick for them.
