Earlier this season we saw the New York Rangers hand out two massive extensions one to their franchise goalie Igor Shesterkin and the other to a former 1st overall pick in Alexis Lafreniere. Would you trade Laf for Frank Vatrano?
I cant stand Lafs inconsistent play and lack of fire or compete , but I want no part of Zegras he has even less heart and fire .
Laffy's lapses on D have been costing us goals against. Now a – 13. Is it lack of motivation? Compare and contrast with the play of the forwards on Team USA.
I'd prefer a trade that either brought a good two way player or a tough defenseman.
Lafreniere should not be traded. I know he is having a down season, but he has a high ceiling, and I think we all know that Drury will get a terrible return
Vatrano and Zegras for Lafreniere.
id do something like berard, k. miller, vesey for zegras at most.
That would be a horrid trade. Zegras is so overrated it's unbelievable! Laf's play has been bad, but Trochek & Panarin were really bad too. But Laf & Bread have good chemistry, so Laviolette needs to put Bread back there & stop playing around with team chemistry. Put Cullye with JT & bring up Othmann & put him on the RW instead of Vesey. Then put Berard with Mika & Kreids. On that stacked US Junior team, the guy I really liked was Boldy. I actually liked him better than Jack Hughes because of his all around game.
This trade makes a lot of sense, even if the return is a 7th round pick: but only if you understand Drury’s goal of destroying the team. I love Alexis as a player and for his sake I hope he gets away from what is becoming the biggest joke of the league: Chris Drury’s Rangers. I will always be a Ranger fan and after they bring in a new GM and coach I won’t have to be ashamed to admit it.

I'm not a fan of Zegras. He's a soft, selfish, whiney little hotdogging dbag. Troy Terry got his ass beat because Zegras decided to take a late poke at the puck in a blowout 5-0 game with 5 mins left and then he went to cry to the media about it. Horrible teammate. Laffy definitely needs to wake his ass up and give more effort. I feel like he's picked up on Bread's half-assed backchecking and only plays on one end of the ice. I think he will rebound and start lighting it up again, but he needs to show that effort that he once did
I'd say yes trade him he's been a flop and see no improvement down the road..
Last week the trade rumor was K’Andre Miller for Zegras, one for one. How that became Lafreniere for Zegras is beyond me. If Brady Tkachuk decides that he doesn’t want to play in Canada anymore after the 4 Nations tournament, I wonder if the Rangers could make a deal with Ottawa sending K.Miller to the Ducks, Zegras and Lafreniere to Ottawa and Tkachuk to the Rangers.
The rangers should dump Laf. Unload him somewhere because he is dead weight. I am so sick of watching him casually skate behind the play, literally being pushed by Trocheck, having absolutely no drive and weighing the team down. Him and Miller. Get rid of them both
