drai is my fave oiler for a reason!
As an Oiler fan, he's top 5. McDavid, MacKinnon, Makar, Draisaitl, Kucherov in that order. Could argue that Kucherov > Draisaitl but they're so close, I'd be fine with swapping those two.
No one with a brain thinks he's underrated. Also players always shine when a star teammate is out injured. If you put Drai on the top line of the best teams he woukdnt score as much as he is right now without mcdavid. You get more chances.
Let`s see. Preds and Flames are not especially strong teams right now. Tonight they have a though back2back game vs. the Devils, a legit playoff team.
If he scores another 3, i`ll give it to him. But i expect a blowout for the Oil.

Drai has been under rated forever and I'm not an oilers fan. I've heard for years people trying to put McKinnon in talks with Crosby, ovechkin, McDavid, Matthews but Drai does everything Mac does but consecutive year after year. It's not McDavid and Drai behind the wheel. They played with the likes of kassian Neil and Lucic in the top 6 and expected to use their talent to make up for having guys who couldn't just keep up but they weren't complimentary unless an offensive faceoff and rushed the net. When oilers signed Kane I thought f he isn't just going to grind harder than ever McD or drai got a guy with talent. Then Hyman signed he flourished. But McDavid and especially drai have always flourished even without these workers. "Oilers trade for an old ekholm he will be an ok help" man he was the best Dman along with ceci. It's crazy the potential Edmonton has I'd really like to see Kane back and them just upgrade nurse for anyone. Once again not an oilers fan but my god it's hard not to cheer for a team that had failed to add so many needed pieces for so many years to all of a sudden adding 4-5 work horses that worked so well and are still on the team. I don't care about edmontons drought. They will make the playoffs and if they can add the pieces they need they will be even more dangerous than last year.

With that goal in the first minute against the Flames he showed that he is one of, if not the best, backhand in the league. What I noticed in the first few games was the opponent doing good work in anticipating and blocking many of his usually lethal backhand passes. But somehow he found a switch or cheat code to step it up a notch and bring his passing to an even higher level. I'm gonna be bold and proclaim he is amongst the top 10 passers of all time and top 3 backhand overall.
No true Hockey fan in their right mind would ever call (or even think) Draisaitl ‘overrated.’ At one point, many people were saying that him and McDavid were the two best players in the world. Also, Oilers management doesn’t think he’s overrated, which is why they gave him the biggest contract in league history.
If Dris was Canadian he would be the main man.

I honnestly think he's the fourth best player in the league. Mcdavid – Kucherov – Mackinon and then Leon… He's also the second best passer in the league after Kucherov Imo

Draisaitl is top 5…coming from one of the biggest Oilers haters in the world and arguably as or more dangerous than McDavid in the playoffs. I'd definitely take him over Matthews.

I do not understand anyone that criticizes or underrates Leon. I feel like anyone saying anything has never actually watched the guy play more than his playoff games. Such nonsense. The Malkin comparison is appropriate for sure. Leon's skating and use of the body is SO much fun to watch.

Malkin was so good while ceosby was out that i started to wonder if he should be on another team and be the #1 leader there.

They should keep Connor and Draisaitl separated. They are each phenomenal on their own, and what team can furnish two top-level defenses to cover both lines?

Drai is one of the most conplete players the game has ever seen. he'd score 100 points on ANY team regardless of who he plays with.
One thin nobody talks about how bad Drais linemates are moat of the time. AND STILL he puts up crazy numbers.
He only plays on McDavids line when they load up the first line which only happens maybe 3-4 times per game. The rest of the time he's playing with guys that wouldn't even make half the leagues rosters…..

Overrated? Geez people are stupid.
He's more important to this team than McDavid. He can score when others can't. McDavid can be shut down oh so easily. All you have to do is let him skate around in circles in your end and cover everyone else. He constantly loses the puck because because he is moving so fast and trying to stickhandle. Draisaitl gets the puck and while he doesn't skate fast it is near impossible to get it off him. And then a quick move and it's in the net.
If anyone is overrated IMO, it's McDavid. Not saying he isn't a great player, he is. But if it was a must win game and I had to choose one player, it would be Draisaitl and not McJesus.
He’s one of the top players in the NHL and he’s well recognized for being so. I don’t see any issues of being over or under-rated, and all arrangements are fine. Too many people like splitting hairs and making mountains out of molehills is all.🤷♂️
McDavid isnt the best player in the world. Also, Draisaitl didnt have a great cup final because Barkov (the actual best player in the world) shut him down all series.
Get used to it Dri, I will be very surprised if McDavid resigns with Edmonton when his contract is up.
