  1. I get that he isn't getting premium ice-time, but if you play soft, don't skate hard, and are the easiest player to knock off the puck most nights, you're not getting rewarded with ice-time.

  2. My thing is Casey is not the biggest weakness on the team, he’s not the only player who’s underperforming, and it’s unrealistic we can get an upgrade and have money to address defensive gaps. I’m also not confident his time isn’t impacted because the defensive gaps can be slightly filled by rolling the defensive forward lines more. When you have defensive black holes like a dehaan/middleton pair. Or Manson on a bad night.. you want the Kelly/drury lines out there to compensate. I want to see defense addressed before writing off someone as promising as Casey. If they stumble across some screaming deal for a 2C then sure, go for it. But I would sleep better if they find a way to move Manson to the third pair.

  3. Bednar needs to figure out how to get the most out of his players. He won it all in 2022 when the Avs had a stacked roster. But it's absolutely fair to critique him for not getting the most out of players like Mittelstadt. Not every player will fit your mold and I think it's on the coach to maximize the roster as it is.

  4. Nah, dont trade him. Hes not horrible. I dont think hes the reason weve lost any games. He hasnt been a huge contributor be hes a solid player for the Avs. Unless we can get a great trade, no reason to lose him.

  5. No we have not had a consistent team line up all season. Leave him alone and let him build chemistry with his line mates.

  6. I would much rather try to scrounge up a package that could get us gourde and push all of our centers down one line

  7. Middlestadt is on pace for about 50 points. That's just barely under what you are expecting for a 2C. The issue is that the Avs need help on the defense back end more than anything else. If you want to trade Casey and get a 2C that is an IMMEDIATE upgrade, you probably won't have the assets/picks to shore up the defense as well. Add the fact that Middlestadts trade value is low, now you are having add more pieces to move him.

Honestly, I'm of the belief that he can still figure it out here. He's shown that he can be such a good player, I don't think that it's just gone. Frankly I think that they need to just let Casey figure it out, and get in better defensive pieces.

  8. Casey looked so promising in last years’ playoffs. The Avs need that elusive 2nd line center and hopefully Nuke comes back and boosts the 2nd line.

  9. Seems like Ray Bennett is you problem. Keep moving players. Some do need to move. Poor Face Off. Coach Bennett does not seem to be able to fix. Some games poor offensive output. Again Coach Bednar blames the players. Again Ray Bennett. Ray Ferraro called out on national TV a very predictable PP unit. Again Ray Bennett.

  10. With a better coach(s) we should have had 3 or 4 Cups. Chris and Joe are more loyal to Jared and Ray and not the fans.

  11. Casey is a snooze out there and soft as hell. Would have no problem letting him go,

  12. Drury, Parssinen, Necas, Colton, Mittelstadt; all those guys can play center. This is the deepest team at the pivot Colorado has had since the Cup run in 2022
