  1. Kinda sucks to lose him, I dont think were gonna get anything worth losing him for honestly and then the teams still shit and we got no new talent and Kents still a bum. We need a skilled centre with talent. Not another hope case like Dach or Newhook, someone good. Slaf still showing us all why picking him was a terrible choice Cooley & now wright killing it is hard to watch. This is what happens when Montreal thinks there smarter then everyone our scouts gottttaaaaaaaa go

  2. 2nd round pick and another later pick/4th liner who is currently playing in and out of their team’s lineup

  3. The Habs are way to soft to play against and they are badly coached take a look at Laval they loose players to call ups and to injuries and they are still ready to play every game it's night and day how much better coached Laval is compared to the Habs and by trading Armia and Evans you will set the team back they play well together and it will take time to fill the void if they leave

  4. This is stupid you draft Evans he plays his heart out for the team and plays valuable minutes every night and you trade him what's that say to the rest of the players they draft not setting a good president look who is in the ice at the end of each game and end of each period protecting a lead Armia and Evans

  5. I like Jake but it's up to him as to whether or not he forces a trade. He can ask for above his value but he's a 4C and if he asks too much, Montreal may be better off with a different 4C.

  6. I really dont care
    Id trade Monty for Allen
    Dach for Romanov
And Newhook for a 1st round pick
    Wait a min? 😅

  7. This team obviously has "weaknesses" to be improved on. It hurts to see some of our better players leave…for me, seeing Arturi Lehkonen, Tyler Toffoli, Sean Monahan, and now potentially Jake Evans leave for picks and unproven younger players. The Lehkonen trade produced Carrier and drafting Hage, Toffoli trade produced Heineman, Newhook and prospect Goalie Volohkin, Monahan trade produced 1st& 3rd rnd pick in 2025 and Hage. So Hughes has lost good players but was able to get good value and more added pieces to this team rebuild…so I'm confident he will do it again w/Evans. I heard that Washington offered a 2nd rnd pick for Evans but was turned down so as Drew mentioned, I expect minimum 2nd and another pick or prospect (similar to Lehkonen trade). My only concern with more young prospects & picks coming in and older experienced players going out is it helps the long term plan of a rebuild but it definitely does not push it forward significantly. I feel HuGo will not do anything BIG by trade deadline, that most of the major changes will be made in the off-season. We know some young prospects will be added to this group next season, but the one that this team NEEDS to surround with better players, is Demidov. If this team does not significantly improve in team play, it won't matter how good Demidov might be, it will just create another season of inconsistent play, an outside chance at a wildcard spot and continued questions&frustrations being voiced by fans&media. I won't repeat my opinions on what needs changing but Hughes definitely has his work cut out for him.

  8. Omg we suck and hopefully we can all see like I said all long dach sucks newhook sucks there both rejects

  9. Maybe internal discussions with players is, we send you to a contender now, and possibly resign him in the summer. Just speculation. The same could be said about Savard.

  10. OK Dekes, we're moving on to next year,,, Evans is a second and a prospect, or a second and a veteran… just have to be careful about the veteran(s) being brought in.

  11. Goodbye Jake. His numbers don't warrant any high salary…For a few years he did not score many goals…

  12. You can’t pay a 4th line centre what he’s probably asking for and that is 4 plus million. Trade him while his value is high!

  13. Trade Savard too he’s a Pilon out there. Slow as a turtle! Total regress from last year when he had some value and they should have dealt him!

  14. Time for SAVARD to go ..!! I feel sorry for who ever gets STUCK being his partner..!! He is slow …seems lost at times …a puck watcher …causes confusion for his partner…enough ..Get what you can ..Move on !!

  15. the problem is hughs & gordon think they r the smartest guys in the nhl.. they couldn’t trade savard, armia, devorak, anderson, gally, mathison or primea but y trade evans? evans with leckenon & byron were a no.1 checking line. evans is a poor mans bergeron ..we keep forcing sazuki to be a first line center against the elite players & he isnt that type of player. he is our best player but not elite & certainly not captain material.. mls system is bad & i couldn’t even tell you what they r trying to do on the ice 90 percent of the games. so gordon & hughs along with geoff molson r to blame…..

  16. thats fine. I really like Evans but he's at best a 3rd line center. His value is probably the highest its ever going to be – so might as well get whatever they can for him.

  17. Keen to know if they do trade him and let armia walk, do the habs think they can replace them with beck and Luke tuch or Florian or do they go into free agency sign someone for less or trade evans for something similar

  18. Staying in the mix was fun while it lasted. How can a team look so good for a significant period of time and then so bad. It may start with goaltending. Monty and Dobes are not the same since the winning streak. It's time to sell. Mailloux and Beck should become regular roster players next season. We are going to see a lot of changes between now and the start of next season. There is going to be tremendous pressure on management to significantly improve this team to get a playoff spot next season. It can be done. There can be no question about that.
