For a career 4th line center with a best year of 27 points in 56 games, age 28 years old, I would suggest an absolute maximum salary of $3.25 million/year.

Makes no sense. The cap hit would be lower the more years Evans gets. Production normally drops after 30
Evans is much more than a 3rd or 4th line center….he can fill any position and do a good job anywhere on this team.

Honestly I wouldn't trade Mailloux , he would be one of our untouchables . I just have a feeling his skills will be perfect for the NHL . Big body and big shot . Never trade him please 😊
Evans is a Swiss Army knife kind of player.The Evans-Armia-Heineman line was the best 4th line in Hockey until Heineman got hurt.Evans has done fine when moved up to top 6 due to injuries.Why nickle and dime a proven contributor like Evans and don't blink an eye at paying someone $8 million who has about the same production as Evans.And they would do it for a second round draft choice?That is just stupid.
5 years x $4M for Evans. With the cap going up, the Habs will be looking for a guy like this in a couple years anyways.
Evans t 3×3.5 or 4×3 is acceptable but Steel will not have an impact.
